Deduplication Storage Folder in Undiscovered State
I am trying to setup Backup Exec 2010 on a new server for testing and eventual production. I am trying to setup a Deduplication Storage folder on a dedicated volume (5TB - iSCSI), and everytime I do the storage folder is created sucessfully but I can not use it. If I go to the devices view the folder is marked as "Undiscovered". I have tried running backup jobs to this folder and any job that tries to use it just sits in a queued state. Can someone help me out and tell me what I am doing wrong. I am using a Windows 2008 R2 x64 server, with and EMCAX4-5i iSCSI SAN One other thing that is strange, is that if I look at the properties of the deduplication folder that was created it has different properties than the ones that I specified when I created the folder. The folder location is missing/greyed out, also the logging levels are set differently than when I created the folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...2.2KViews0likes12CommentsBackup 12.5 Exec configuration settings backup

You must use the Exchange Agent to run a full backup before you run a differential or incremental backup. " The incremental fails at night even when Ihave run a full backup that same day. Nothing else is trying to backup Exchange.983Views0likes6CommentsBackup Exec 2010 won´t find tape device

I tried to push-install the Backup Exec 2010 Agent on several Windows Server 2008 R2 servers, but get an error 183 (which indicates that the network connection should be a problem). I tried copying the agents to the local drive of the Windows 2008 servers, but that also doesn't work. I get an error that the Backup Exec software has stopped working. What else can Ido?Solved747Views0likes5CommentsBackup exec server unable to link to remote agent for linux

Question: I need to develop an Excel spreadsheet that will list all of Symantec Backup Exec 11d individual backup jobs & then what servers, folders, and files are backed up under each individual backup job. Is there a way that I can automatically generate such a report, or can I export such a report into a CSVDE file and then import it into Excel? I would rather automatically generate this report rather than having to manually create the spreadsheet. How can this be done? Can someone please provide me with step by step instructions? I have a VERY LARGE server envrironment and each individual Symantec Backup Exec backup job backs up quite a few servers. I need to be able to generate a report that will list the name of each individual backup job and then what server names and folders and files on the server are backed up.492Views0likes1Comment2010 Installation
