NetBackup - NAS appliance and Offline Backups
Group, Hi, all. We're looking at options for an offline DR backup and were wondering if anyone has tried using a NAS appliance to receive backup copies and then just disconnecting it from the network once the backup completes? If so, what were your results? Thanks, Jason1.6KViews0likes7CommentsPartial Catalog Recovery Process
Hello, I am at a confused state based on the below scenario: got an all disk(appliance based 773) environment replicating to another master server at the DR site. got another master which is an appliance which runs 100% tapes and nothing to disk except the catalog back to the local MSDP on it. this image is getting replicated to the DR master server as well. if I have to perform a DR on both the master servers using the 1 DR master environment, will a simple catalog partial recovery help to import all the images off of the catalog backup along with the tapes? please chyme in if anyone has the experience of partial catalog recovery. We have 2 NB 6.5.6 masters (SiteA and SiteB, on solaris) in different locations. At each location we also have a DataDomain appliance. We are using OST and SLPs to duplicate backups across the 2 DataDomains. The setup is something like this: SiteA_media_server writes copy one to diskpool SiteA_Local_DD and duplicates to diskpool SiteB_Dupe_DD. SiteB_media_server writes copy one to diskpool SiteB_Local_DD and duplicates to diskpool SiteA_Dupe_DD How can I get the remote master to "see" the local master's duped images for import? I tried to initiate an import from SiteB master of SiteA's duped images, but in the drop down, I don't see SiteB_Dupe_DD (which are the duped images from SiteA. I'm thinking I have to create all diskpools on both NB environments, but I figured I'd post in case there are other steps/caveats.Solved833Views0likes3Comments
