Symantec DLO 7.5 Dedupe Server and Dedupe Storage Location
Hi, I am planning to install Symantec DLO 7.5 to useDedupefeature that available in this. I have one Data Center and many branch offices and want to install in Multiple Sites with Centralised Administration. My question is about Dedupe Server and Dedupe storage location? How many Dedupe server and how many Dedupe Storage locations required in multiple sites with central administration topology? Can some one please help me with best practice around this? Thanks. Can someone please suggest how to place the following components? What need to installed at Data Center and waht need to be installed at each sites with 200 to 20 desktops and laptops? How to migrate the Symantec DLO 7.5 SP1 to a new server with different IP and Host Name.
Hi, Actually i have migrated the Symantec DLO 7.5 SP1 to a new server with different IP and Host Name, by restoring the DLO.mdf and DLO.ldf data files but after migration, the clients are not able to communicate with the new server. And after troubleshooting I found the DBServer name on clients in the registry was remain same(Old Server Host Name). If we change the DBServer Name then the Backup runs on Windows XP, but On Windows 7 machine its not working thereafter client get disabled after changing the DBServer Name in registry. So Please help me to get out of it. Is there any other way to migrate the SDLO 7.5 SP1. Thanks, Ashish Agrawal ACPL Systems Pvt. Ltd.
Advice needed - DLO 7.0 to 7.6 upgrade
*** Moved to new discussion fromSymantec Desktop Laptop Option 7.6 is now available!**** Hello All, I would like to upgrade DLO 7.0 to 7.6. I will do this in stages since we have 4 MGMT or Admin Servers. I will start with the one on my LAN first. At the moment, my main goal is to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.6. Basically migrate the basic user profiles and related settings. We do not have anything fancy such as throttling except the connection policies when the agent is not on the native LAN to limit network bandwidth, which does not work properly at the moment (I do not mean to sound negative ;). Any suggestions how I can improve the connection policies? On the other hand, should I consider throttling and does it work good in 7.6? I am trying to limit bandwidth or maybe not even allow network backups over WAN and only let the agent perform local backups (We have maybe 40% end user traveling between the offices). Any suggestions? Are there any suggestions and/or documents/links how to do it. Do I need to backup and specific directories where the settings reside such as SQL Server's DLO instance or else? Hello, Is there an article or a page on connect that sum-up all the news and download links for DLO ? We have a page for NBU which is quite convenient, but I wasn't able to find something for DLO.
