Hello, I have a quick question concerning the installation of OpsCenter for Red Hat. I do not seem to see the required downloads. The downloads that I see are named: OpsCenter_7.5_Unix_tar-gz.1of2 OpsCenter_7.5_Unix_tar-gz.2of2 When I extract these, I only see directories related to AIX64 and HPIA, however, when I view the install script, I notice there is an entry for LinuxR_x86_64 and it will attempt to change to the directory associated with it, but of course, that directory does not exist to begin with. echo Installing OpsCenter for Red-Hat Linux echo "Press [Return] to continue ..." read dummy $Path/LinuxR_x86_64/Server/installOpsCenterServer It appears my OpsCenter package is missing the installation folder/files for this OS?Solved776Views0likes3CommentsAlert : NetBackup / OpsCenter 7.1.0.3 Upgrade / Performance Warning
Just FYI for OpsCenter & NetBackup Upgrade 7.1.0.3 After applying the 7.1.0.3 upgrade, degraded performance may be seen in NetBackup and OpsCenter on Windows due to an unintentional CPU restriction imposed on the database. Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH178219 Problem After upgrading NetBackup orOpsCenter to 7.1.0.3, the database server processdbsrv11.exe, will be licensed / limited to use onlyoneprocessor. This can cause thedbsrv11.exeprocess to use 100% of the CPU. Error To determine that the system is affected by the issue, review theserver.logfile, which can be found in: NetBackup:<install_path>\Veritas\NetBackupDB\log OpsCenter:<install_path>\Symantec\OpsCenter\db\log I. 12/29 20:31:55. 8 logical processor(s) on 2 physical processor(s) detected. I. 12/29 20:31:55.Processor limit (licensed processors): 1 I. 12/29 20:31:55.Maximum number of physical processors the server will use: 1 Another option to check if the system is affected is to execute thedblic.execommand. This command can be found in the following paths: NetBackup:<install_path>\Veritas\NetBackupDB\WIN64 OpsCenter:<install_path>\Symantec\OpsCenter\server\db\WIN64 Note:On a 32 bit system, replace "WIN64"in the paths above with "WIN32" From the command prompt: >dblic.exe dbsrv11.lic The output on an affected system would look similar to this example output from a NetBackup 7.1.0.3 server: SQL Anywhere Server Licensing Utility Version 11.0.1.2645 License read successfully. Licensed processors: 1 User: Symantec Company: Symantec Inc. Install key: PEPEMJ98AABP7150593091370 Environment This issue affects only Windows environments on NetBackup 7.1.0.3. Solution Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue (Etrack2659663)is present in the current version(s) of the product(s)mentioned in this article. Symantec is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. This issue is scheduled to be addressed in the following version of NetBackup: 7.1 Maintenance Release 4 (7.1.0.4) When NetBackup 7.1.0.4 is available, please access the following link for download and readme information: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=landing&key=15143 Please note that Symantec Corporation reserves the right to remove any fix from the targeted release if it does not pass quality assurance tests or introduces new risks to overall code stability. Workaround: In a command prompt, browse to the directory containing thedblic.execommand: NetBackup:<install_path>\VERITAS\NetBackupDB\WIN64 OpsCenter:<install_path>\Symantec\OpsCenter\server\db\WIN64 Note:If on a 32 bit system, replace "WIN64"with"WIN32" Execute the following command for NetBackup: >dblic.exe -l Processor -u 128 dbsrv11.lic "Symantec" "Symantec Inc." For OpsCenter, execute this command: >dblic.exe -l Processor -u 100 dbsrv11.lic "Symantec OpsCenter" "Symantec Corporation" This would increase the number of Licensed Processor Count to 100 for OpsCenter and 128 for NetBackup. (These are the default values.) Services will have to be recycled for the change to take effect. Validate thissolutionby rerunning the dblic.exe dbsrv11.lic command and observing changes in the output. Hello, Has anyone created any custom reports in Netbackup OpsCenter 7.0.1 that they have found very useful for either themselves or for management teams that they'd be willing to share? We're working on putting some management slide decks together that show success rate, failure rate, clients by type..but looking for reports that may be thinking outside the box . Hi everyone, I've seen that opscenter is classing backup jobs with a return code 1 as a failure in reports. Does anyone know of any way to configure opscenter so it classes partialy successful jobs as successful ones? Also does anyone have a link to the 7.1 software as I can't find it anywhere (currently using 7.0.1) Thanks Phil821Views0likes5CommentsSome features not work after upgraded to VBR 6.6.2
