Backup job failes with error code E0001212
I'm having a problem with a backup job that failes with error E0001212: Job ended: 5. juli 2011 at 00:05:57 Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe0001212 - The volume that is used for the staging location must be a writable NTFS volume that is local to the Backup Exec server. Also, the volume must not be shared through Distributed File System. See the job log for more details. A quick Google search for "Backup Exec E0001212", returns zero hits! The location of the temporary staging area is on a disc with plenty of space (300+ GB of free space - the mail database is approx. 60GB). Backup Exec is installed on a 2008 Server, Exchange 2010 is installed on a 2008 R2-server. Anyone seen this error before - and maybe a solution?
Cannot Log onto MAPI with the specified credentials... E00002FE
Hello, Yes, it's another GRT issue here, although this time round I've done everything possible to get this working, but to no ovail. The exact error message is - Cannot log onto MAPI with the specified credentials. Review the resource credentials for the job, and then run the job again I have Exchange 2007 (no service packs) installed on a Server 2003 R2 SP2 64bit machine, running Backup exec 12.5 (all all latest SPs and hotfixes) I have followed all examples provided in the link below to the letter of the law. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH64095 I have used the tool MFCMAPI on my Exchange to open mailboxes to view their property, with user credentials used for the jobs. My server has hotfix KB940349-v3 installed, along with the latest CDO, and VSS SDK. I have edited the registry to enter DWORD - E2K7_MBOX I have edited the registry to extend the timeout for Mcal..? (Sorry, I cannot remember the exact name of this) I have tried multiple usernames, to no ovail. Copied both MAPI32.dll and esa.dll to confirm they are both the same version. B2D results in the same. If disable GRT, it backs up fine. .... I'm running out of ideas completely. Does anyone have any other advice that differs from what I've posted previously? Thank you very much for your help. Lee.
Single e-mail restoration failed
Hello Everyone! There are Sym. Backup Exec 12.5 (on Windows Server 2003 SE SP2 x86) and MS Exchange Server 2007 SP2 (on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 x64). The scheduled backup job finished successfully with the database backup (exchange server backup method: copy db & logs, mailbox backup method: full - back up messages - reset archive bit, enable the restore of individual mail messages and folders from information store backups: yes) The problem is the restoration. I should restore a single mail into a mailbox, but the job failed with this error: "e000848c - Unable to attach to a resource. Make sure that all selected resources exist and are online, and then try again. For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33932" Selected resource exists and it is online. I tried to duplicate backup set, the job finished successfully and created a .bkf file. Then the restore job worked one and a half hour and failed with the same error. Maybe the "dismount database before restore" checkbox option should be checked for restore a single mail? Thanks in advance!

Don't listen to "The Customer Hold the Longest. is X min. It goes up and down and noone ever answers.
