Dedupe Engine Offline Error for Local Users
We have been experiencing a number of errors with DLO on the user side. The agent will not back up to the user’s DUDF (Desktop User Data File) because it cannot communicate with the server, As both a primary user and an administrator, I often check my settings and backup statistics. I happened to notice today that I, myself, received the Dedupe Engine Offline error when I tried to force a backup over VPN. So. My question is, does being connected via VPN somehow affect the backup? Is it possible that some of the ports used by DLO are blocked, or not open, in a VPN session? I have install DLO on Win Server 2012 R2 and using SQL Express 2012 For testing purpose, i'm using MYLAB\Administrator as a domain account. Hi. I have problem with DLO, im install spector aplication in 10 cpu and on 2 computer there was a problem. DLO not backup C:\Windows folder and i dont know why i get error. hi i'm having an issue after upgrading to dlo8 agent. when i log into a laptop with a user that does not have a dlo account, i'm unable to select disable user without getting an error message saying "please enter correct password". if i press cancel, it goes away, until the next time i log in, it prompts me again for dlo credentials on dlo 7.6 agenti did not have this issue. anyone have any ideas how we can resolve this? Hello, I have problem with SDLO 8 Desktop agent installed on windows xp pro SP3. I remotely installed desktop angent with successfull installation on windows xp. When common user, without administration rights, is log on, during backup whole pc freeze and restart. After restart whole situation is repeating. Do you have any suggestions? Buen día, He instalado la consola de DLO 8.0, una ves configurado el perfil, asigando los clientes, storage y ubiación dedupe al momento de instalar el agente y correrlo comiensa a realizar un respaldo local pero no en red. Al ver los Logs del agente se puede ver el mensaje "Dedupe engine Offline". Al realizar un perfil y storage sin servidore dedupe este funciona correctamente. Estas pruebas ya las he realizado varas veces agregando ubicaciones y pools de deduplicación pero pasa el mismo problema. De antemano agradesco el apoyo que se a brindado. Hey All, We are currently upgrading and switching servers from DLO3.01 to 8.0. Our process is to create the user on the new server and push the client using the wizard. I am getting a significant number of failures and some of them can be pushed using the .exe file and psexec but many of them are failing error 1603 "MSI (s) (B8:3C) [09:28:03:988]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Symantec DLO Desktop Agent. Product Version: 8.0.0.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Symantec Corporation. Installation success or error status: 1603." Is there an issue making such a big jump in upgrade? I tried to search but all I could find was upgrading from 6.0/6.5/7.5 to 8 nothing referencing updating from much older versions. I am using Symantec Desktop and Laptop Option 8.0 andam getting the following alerts on dozens of backups: The desktop agent cannot start because the Network User Data Folder is has an unreadable or corrupt encryption key (7FFFFFFF) It appears to be affecting many users, but not all. I think it might just be affecting users of a particular storage location. Not every user of this storage location is affected, just some. The recommended action is to delete the Network User Data Folder or delete the user. This seems a bit excessive, plus I don't want to delete the user's backed up data!
