Unable Access Second Partition After Formatting Primary Partition
I recently had fully encrypted hard disk (Toshiba mq01abd075), operating system (Windows 7 Professional), two partition. C (146 GB) and D (548 GB) and 4 GB Unallocated space. I ran the system restore for partition C, after which I was unable to access the operating system. I reinstalled the operating system partition C. I installed PGP WDE, when I entered in the program, partition D does not appear to be decrypted. Partition D appears in My Computer (0 bytes), in computer management at disk management appear 548 GB RAW. If I double click on it ask me for Format, but i've never click Yes, so the second partition was never touch after the problem.After this I reinstalled twice the OS. Now I have windows 8.1 but stil,but still I have not touch the second partition. I've tried to decrypt the drive with a few tutorials such as(WinPE and put the hard disk as second partition): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170574 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149478 Give me various errors suchs as: "Could not locate valid BGFS record. Recovey failed! Operation recover disk failed: Error code -11984 item not found" or "Disk 1 is not instrumented by bootguard" and others. I know was my fault. Please give me a solution. I have used Norton 360 on our machines for the past years, and have been very satisfied. But what happened today, greatly shook up my trust in Symantec. I received a monthly newsletter that promised to inform me about social media scams, spamming, pesky advertisements etc. But any link, I clicked on, led me to a "pesky" Norton advertisement. I find it very hypocritical to pretend to protect the user when, in fact, you do exactly what you claim to guard against. The next step then is to float malware, so you can come as knight in shining armour saving the naive consumer. I am using this forum to bring the issue to public attention. Yesterday I went to Nathan what a Joke, I got Live chat The Analyst wanted to take remote control of my computer , Being I had already spent Hrs tring to trouble shoot the problem of the Norton Registry Cleaner Not working Error Code 2146959355, I had to leave the room for a min. came back, he had been in my registry and did some editing , after spending 4 Hrs on line with this guy He never fixed the problem , My computer would only start in SAFE MODE , which means NO Internet. Today Just to get my computer working again I had to RE-Image the SYS. Just Get it Running again. Seriously, Symantec, that's shameful. If you treat your enterprise customers (not to mention your overseas support staff who have to deal with angry customers who've listened to Journey and Michael Jackson for an hour while being constantly told their call is important to Symantec despite obvious evidence to the contrary) this badly, I can't imagine what it must be like for the poor consumer-grade customers who probably have to book about a week of hold time on their cellphones. Look, you've outsourced ALL your phone support OVERSEAS where labor is supposedly CHEAP. And now you continue to scrimp on even that.
