SFW version 6 Licensing
Hello Recently new version of SFW has been introduced it is version 6. Unfortunately I’m not able to find any information about licensing structure of SFW. IF some of You have such a guides – please share it. I'm carious to know if Microsoft Cluster Option is a part of standard version of SFW or it is part only of SFW Enterprise. In ver 5.1 it was a part of Enterprise version but there was a possibility to purchase it separately as ad-on to the standard version of SFW. For ver 6 I’m not able to find SKU for Microsoft Cluster Option in the pricelist – so this the reason I’m asking for that. Thanks for any help Regards JurekSolved1.6KViews1like11CommentsMigrating to SFWHA 6.0 W2K8
Hi all, To migrate from a W2K3 SFWHA 5.1 SP2 cluster environment I am looking for a solution that gives to less impact for users and application. We run only SQL 2005 and 2008 instances on this cluster. So I was thinking about the solution toadd a W2K8 R2 SFWHA 6.0 node into this existing cluster? Is this possible? Are there any experiences with 6.0 yet? (possitive and negative?) IvoSolved808Views0likes2CommentsStorage foundation setup exits abruptly after license screen

Good Morning, We have set up a RAID 10 using SFW using several SSD drives and are running into some read performance issues. We believe that the Device Type detection in SFW is partly to blame. Our SSD drives are PCI bus (FusionIO) based and are being detected as UNKNOWN. I have attached a screenshot of this behavior. Having read the section in "Using Veritas Storage Foundation with Solid State Drives.pdf" which deals with this problem, I am aware of the following method for attributing SSD to a device with an UNKNOWN type. vxdisk set <diskname> mediatype=ssd or to force: vxdisk -f set <diskname> mediatype=ssd However, this option does not seem to be available in the Windows version of vxdisk. Is there any other way in SFW to manually set the Device Type of a disk if it is not automatically detected properly? We are currently evaluating this product as a way to get a software RAID 10 on Windows Server 2003. Thank you, Matthew Hill matt@tfisllc.comSolved1.2KViews0likes3Comments
