VCS discovery windows
Hello Experts, As part of a monitoring solution, we have been relying upon the presence of below registry keys to detect presence of a VCS on Windows, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\VC HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\VCS\Base This however seems to be unreliable leading to false positives. I want an approach(could be a registry key/value) to detect a VCS with certinity on a Windows. Thank you! Ashish1KViews0likes1CommentVCS Setup - "Install A Clustered Master Server" Greyed Out
I originally posted this in the NetBackup forum but it seems to be a VCS issue that is the root of the problem: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/install-clustered-master-server-greyed-out I am trying to set up a test NBU 7.6.0.1 master server cluster with VCS on Windows Server 2008 R2but the option to "install a clustered master server" is greyed out. I have built2 new servers, installed SFHA / VCS 6.0.1and configured disks / volumes / disk groups / VVR replication. The VCS installation has not been modified or customised in any way as from my understanding the NBU installation will create its own service group. I have carried out the initial configuration and added the remote cluster node. Within cluster explorer, the defaultClusterService service group is all up and running, the global cluster option is enabled andthe remote cluster status also shows that the other cluster is up. Marianne has alreadyasked me to run two commands with the following output: 'gabconfig -a' - "GAB gabconfig ERROR V-15-2-25022" lltconfig -nvv - "LLT lltconfig ERROR V-14-2-15000 open \\.\llt failed: error number: 0x2" I've probably just made a silly mistake somewherebut I can't figure outwhat piece of the puzzle I have missed - any ideas?Solved4.6KViews1like37Commentscannot fit into memory

Hello Experts, We have a two node active-passive VCS 6.0 cluster running in Solaris LDOM on T4-1 servers. Two virtual interfaces (Vnet0 and Vnet1)are configured from the control domain using igb2/igb4. vnet0 and vnet1 using solaris ipmp. The cluster IP is configured as a virtual IP on top of vnet0 as its comes online as vnet0:1. Out external connectivity must happen only from Cluster virtual IP on vnet01:1, but the network team informed that no traffic coming from cluster vitual IP. The firewall only receives the packets from the host IP which was configured on vnet0. Can anyone tell me , how to configure the VCS to forward the traffic from cluster IP to only a particular destination. We have configured the resources using MutliNICB/IPMultiNICB. Hi Forum Friends, I need some help installing SFHA with all patches included. I wanted to know if there is a way to install all of these below in the same command? The Sort installation report shows I need these patches Patch Date Size cpi-6.0.1.1100 2015-01-06 18.5 KB cpi-6.0.5.300 2015-01-05 7.98 KB sfha-rhel6.6_x86_64-6.0.5.200 2014-12-18 34.14 MB fsadv-rhel6_x86_64-6.0.5.200 2014-11-25 3.85 MB odm-rhel6_x86_64-6.0.5.100 2014-09-10 295.95 KB sfha-rhel6_x86_64-6.0.5 2014-04-15 194.48 MB To install in a single shot sfha-rhel6.6_x86_64-6.0.5.200says to run something like this. You can also install this patch together with 6.0.1 GA release and 6.0.5 Patch release # ./installSFHA605P2 -base_path [<601 path>] -mr_path [<605 path>] [<host1> <host2>...] So how do I get the rest installed is there any extended commands I can use to include in this to get them all done in one shot? I am open to using just installmr with -base_path and other switches as well. What ever would do it. I plan on using a response file btw. Hi All, I tried to bring a SG online in a node but it's not comming online. Let me explaing the issue. We did reboot of a node aixprd001 and we found that /etc/filesystem is corrupted so the SG bosinit_SG is in partial state since lot of cluster FS in not mounted. Then we corrected the entry and done the manual mout of all the FS but the SG still show the status partial so we did the bellow command. hagrp -clear bosinit_SG -all Once done the SG is in online state. For safer side we tried to offline the SG and brought it up online again but the SG failed to come online, Bellow is the only error we able find the engine_A.log file. 2014/12/17 06:49:04 VCS NOTICE V-16-1-10166 Initiating manual online of group bosinit_SG on system aixprd001 2014/12/17 06:49:04 VCS NOTICE V-16-1-10233 Clearing Restart attribute for group bosinit_SG on all nodes Please help me by providing suggestion, I will provide the output of logs if needed. I have finished configured Service Group and I am going to configure GCO function! Greetings, I have two nodes that I want to cluster using VCS in order for an application to have high availability, it is a JAVA application running on JBOSS (JBoss clustering was not helpful) and having an Oracle DB as backend. I downloadedVRTS_SF_HA_Solutions_6.1_RHEL.tar.gz and installed the VCS product on both nodes though a 3rd host (let's call it balancer). Now what? node1:10.172.21.144 node2:10.172.21.164 I understand that there is VOM on each node (I got that info after VCS installation was finished) and I think it's the tool to manage the cluster, but how should I use it? shouldn't it be on a 3rd host or something in order to manage both nodes? I tried accessing it from node1 such ashttps://10.172.21.144:5634/admin/htdocs/cs_config.htm - I tried to go on with the wizard here to configure it, but it failed with "VRTSsfmcs package is not installed" after keeping the defaults. I checked the VRTS on node1, and there was noVRTSsfmcsinstalled, I also didn't find it in the main installer (when running it on balance the first time). What can I do here? and what is VRTSsfmcs anyway? Another thing, during the installation, I added a virtual ip. The virtual ip was configured on node1 on eth1 as an alias as I see it. Isn't the virtual ip, an IP used for reaching and load balancing the two nodes? why is it configured on eth1:0 on node1 only? I didn't see it on node2. Or does VCS magically reconfigure it on node2 if node1 is down? I understand that the virtual ip is the ip to use when dealing with the application that should be installed on both nodes. Am I right here? Note: I am testing VCS on two VMs (node1 and node2) with each having two bridged NICs (for testing fencing too), and balancer here is also a VM. All on RHEL 6.4 64bit. Any help is appreciated Regards1.5KViews1like7Comments
