Clearwell v8.1 Hardware Requirements
Hello. I am gathering the Clearwell upgrade requirements (upgrade from 7.1.5 to 8.1). I have two questions: 1) What are the hardware requirements for 8.1? We do not have a Clearwell applicance. 2) Do I have to purchase a license for Office 2013 or is it included with the Clearwell 8.1 software? Thank you.Solved2KViews0likes4CommentsTrying to Upgrade clearwell from 7.1.2 to 7.1.3
Im trying to upgrade to 8.1.1 eventually but inorder to get there I need to go to 7.1.3 then to 8.1 etc.... My PROBLEM is that when I try the upgrade from 7.1.2 to 7.1.3 I click on the setup program for 7.1.3 and I get the following message right away. "MySQL 5.5.8 has been identified on the system. To successfully upgrade MySQL (part of Clearwell), you must run the installer under the same account that was originally used to install MySQL 5.5.8. Please login with the correct account before running the installation" So the problem is I dont know what account was used. Is there a force command to install/upgrade my version of 7.1.2 to 7.1.3. I have tried the following that someone had used to upgrade 7.1.3 to 7.1.4 and it worked but it did not work for my upgrade path and gave me same message regarding the need to login as account that origianlly insstalled software etc.. Tried this but still nothing.. ...\setup.exe /v"FORCEMYSQLUPGRADE=1" Not sure what do do now. We have searched the registry to see if we could determine a MySQL install instance but cant see to find it. Also there is no uninstall package for MySQL 5.5.8 in the control panel remove program section. MySQL is definitly on the system as I can login into it and get to the MySQL prompt via the command prompt. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hi, i want to start using an internal Wsus server for our clearwell servers, but i am wondering, can any Microsoft offered patch be applied? including the MS Office patches? are there certain patches that we need to exclude? If so, is there list of KB numbers that i should NOT apply to a Clearwell server? Are all MS updates tested for compatibility by Symantec? or does Symantec have a list of verified patches that are allowed to be applied?Solved1.2KViews3likes3CommentsClearwell 6.1 to 8.1 case migration
Is it possible to backup/archive cases in version 6.1, and restore them to a clearwell appliance running version 8.1? I know the upgrade path needs to go to 7.1.2 before you can go to 8.1, but I am not upgrading. I just want to backup cases and restore them. I am unclear as to whether or not it is possible to restore a case that was created in 6.1 to 8.1. Thank you!1.1KViews0likes4CommentsClearwell email proxy address

Hi, I´m trying to install a Clearwell lab and noticed in the installation guide that at least 8 core processors and 32 GB of memory is required. My questions are: 1. Is it possible to intall CW and get it working with less resources? Of course a low performance would be expected. 2. What about installing CW in a VM machine in a PC? Excuse my lack of complete understanding of Clearwell as I am an Exchange person who's being tasked with implementing Clearwell in our environment. So I now know Clearwell uses MAPI to query and collect data from the stores. I also understand the rights that the service account requires. I had a couple of questions, 1. Does the service account have to be only an AD account or does it need to be mailbox-enabled? In the sense does it require a mailbox in the Exchange environment? 2. Our concern with Clearell is primarily around the performance impact it might cause in our production Exchange 2010 environment. We are obviously going to be testing it a lot but I wanted to know if the Symantec staff has seen anyone use client throttling policies against the Clearwell service account? The throttling policies impose limits on how much resources that particular mailbox can consume in Exchange. We were considering setting some throttling policies specifically for the Clearwell service account mailbox. Thank you,Solved883Views1like3Comments
