Storage Foundation Veritas Volume Replicator
HI, I have a SF for windows with VVR in my infrastructure. I have 2 Node VCS Cluster of Exchange at Primary site and 1 Node VCS Cluster of Exchange at DR site without GCO. I have HP Storage at primary site with 13 volumes and NetApp Storage at DR site with 13 Volumes as well. Due to some problem at primary site my production is now at DR site means rite now my Secondary become primary and Primary become Secondary. So i replicate the data from DR to Primary using VVR and is running successfully. Now i want to move HP from Primary site which is passive and install New NetApp and configure the volume at primary site(Passive) and i want to replicate the Data from DR(Acive) to Primary's(Passive) HP and as well as NetApp for the time being. Is it possible to replicate the data one to many means can i replicate the data from DR(Active) NetApp to Primary's(Passive) HP and NetApp??? My Bandwidth is good which is 10GB. IF Yes? then how??. Question about VxVM and VVR over AIX HACMP?
Hi, I'm trying to figure out what's steps are necesary to acomplish this: I have a Customer with two datacenters located far from each other, they have theirs primary datacenter with a two AIX Power7 SI -HACMP / GPFS / ORACLE RAC / CLUSTER by the Oracle RAC; they want to replicate this date with VVR to a secondary site with same configuration; the primary site is running at this time and We want to create minimal disturbance in the current environment and help them to replicate the ORacle data to the secondary site with VVR. Can We get control of these disk at the primary site with VxVM without any consideration or the customer have to put additional space and transfer current data to the new VxVM volumens? Thay have to modify additional things inside de HACMP to work with ours VxVM? They need to control de VVR replication at the command line or SMIT? The HACMP is aware of VVR or not? They have AIX 6.1, Oracle 10G, IBM DS5000 FC Storage boxes and 10MB (100Mbps) it's the bandwith of the replication channel? Thanks for your help, Best Regards, Gonzalo Gomez
Files are missing in replication and casuser setting(file permission)are not preserved in data replication (any solutions for this ???)
Hi Friends, problme 1: I have used VVR 5.0 for replicating data from one hard disk(srver 1) to another hard disk(server2). In windows, after transfre, using migrate option, i migrated from one server to another server and made the server2 as primary. After migration i could see the permission settings for the content in the server 2 has got deleted. That is server 1 has a folder with casuser setting(w.r.t its server1`s hostname) and aserver 2 also has a folder with casuser setting (w.r.t its server2`s hostname). after migration , the casuser for that content in the secondary server is set with server1`s casuser value. Due to this i was forced to reconfigure the casuser setting with server2 for that particualr content which is an additional work for me.. But there is no issue with solaris. casuser settings are preserved Have anyone faced this problem.. Anyone has any idea on this issue ? Problem 2: Once secondary becomes consistent, (servers are configured under a single cluster), I have unplugged the NIC card connection to the server 1 manually, which makes the secodnary server to come up. But after coming up while validating , there are some files which got corrupted and some files are missing. How to keep track of the data in sec server w.r.t primary server. It seems some files are getting corrupted during transfer. But no clues in VEA client w.r.t.replication netwrork. does any one have any idea on this ? anyone faced this issue?
