Supportability of VCS Oracle Golden Gate agent in A/A mode.
Hi VCS product team, IHAC, planning to configure VCS with Oracle Golden Gate agent in A/A mode Where DB RW mode in primary and DR site. As per VCS agent guide for Oracle Golden Agent it is supported in A/Standby mode. Question from customer is if there is any white paper to configure in A/A. Here is detailed configuration. As you can see below, 2 VCS clusters will be used and each cluster will work independently. OGG will take care of DB replication between Oracles and the updates is bidirectional. The DR solution is Active/Active. Both Oracle DBs will be open and allowed R/W. So all service will be available on both sites. According to your answer below, VCS and VxFS support OGG and that is good news. If one node in one site, there will be local failover. Are there any settings to support OGG service such as bringing up when local failover happens? I will appreciate if you share any related document which explain below configuration. I recently had fully encrypted hard disk (Toshiba mq01abd075), operating system (Windows 7 Professional), two partition. C (146 GB) and D (548 GB) and 4 GB Unallocated space. I ran the system restore for partition C, after which I was unable to access the operating system. I reinstalled the operating system partition C. I installed PGP WDE, when I entered in the program, partition D does not appear to be decrypted. Partition D appears in My Computer (0 bytes), in computer management at disk management appear 548 GB RAW. If I double click on it ask me for Format, but i've never click Yes, so the second partition was never touch after the problem.After this I reinstalled twice the OS. Now I have windows 8.1 but stil,but still I have not touch the second partition. I've tried to decrypt the drive with a few tutorials such as(WinPE and put the hard disk as second partition): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170574 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149478 Give me various errors suchs as: "Could not locate valid BGFS record. Recovey failed! Operation recover disk failed: Error code -11984 item not found" or "Disk 1 is not instrumented by bootguard" and others. I know was my fault. Please give me a solution. I downloaded Norton 360 Version 4. Its the Comcast version. It has been running great ! Well, until i turned on my PC the other day and my definitions are 3 days old and out of date. When i click fix Norton does its live update. When its done,I get a messagesaying, "failed to check for some updates." Before I subscribed to Comcast. Iwas usingAT&T Uverse.I had bought my own version of Norton 360 V.4 and it would do the same thing. Itisinstalled on Windows 7 Ultimate. The Comcast version is installed on my laptop running XP Pro. Both still have the same problem definitions out of date. Ever since V.4 has come out. I have had problems with this problem. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Norton 360 V.4 and it will run good for awhile and then it will not update my definitions. I get the attention fix alert. I have had a Norton tech desktop connect and update my files. That worked ,but couple weeks later i get the same attention alert. My date and time are correct. I had Norton 360 V.3 before and never had trouble till V. 4 came out. Maybe its me maybe not. I am just wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem?
