Microsoft Failover Cluster Option Grayed Out | Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi, I try install Failover Cluster Option after SFW is installed but the option is grayed out and cannot be select.Follow the instruction from Veritas Storage Administrator's Guide but still fail. (Page 539 in PDF). Can anybody let me know the license features is include with Microsoft Failover Cluster? Storage Foundation 5.1 and MSCS not working
Hi. We want to use Storage Foundation 5.1 to manage our dual path disk. We are clustering MS BizTalk 2006 so we need to use MSCS to Cluster BizTalk. Problem is that MSCS cannot see the disk group created in SF. We are using Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2 We installed SF first and the disk groups appear fine. Then we tried to configure MSCS and it could not see the disk. During some investigation we discovered we needed the MSCS Option, so we added our "VRTS STORAGE FOUNDATION OPTION MICROSOFT CLUSTER 5.1 WIN FOR OS TIER ENTERPRISE EDITION STD LIC" license key and it indicated that the MSCS option is available. However, when we go back to Add/Remove programs to select this option, it does not appear as a choice in the add/remove SF options. How should we proceed? Is there a seperate plug in we need to download or should it appear in the list of options in the SF installation screen? Do we need to have MSCS configured before we install SF so it can detect it? When did Symantec cease to sell VRTS STORAGE FOUNDATION OPTION MICROSOFT CLUSTER 5.1 WIN FOR OS TIER ENTERPRISE EDITION STD LIC as standalone option license and When MSCS option was included in Standard version of VSFW? and When MSCS option was moved tom Standard to Enterprise Edition of VSFW? Hello Recently new version of SFW has been introduced it is version 6. Unfortunately I’m not able to find any information about licensing structure of SFW. IF some of You have such a guides – please share it. I'm carious to know if Microsoft Cluster Option is a part of standard version of SFW or it is part only of SFW Enterprise. In ver 5.1 it was a part of Enterprise version but there was a possibility to purchase it separately as ad-on to the standard version of SFW. SF Basic missing features?
Hi! Just trying out SF Basic on a freshly-built Windows 2008 R2 Standard server. The GUI installer won't allow me to check any of the features except the one to replace the Windows storage MMC. According to the SF 6.0 compatability guide, the array I'm using, an IBM DS3524, is supported, and Windows 2008 R2 is definately supported. The docs on the Basic version would seem to imply that DMP is included, too. I'm logged in with administrator rights (and have tried it logging in directly as the Administrator, too...). The MPIO feature is installed in the Windows Server Manager. Any idea why I can't install DMP, or any of the other features? The web page http://www.symantec.com/business/storage-foundation-basic clearly indicates that Dynamic Multipathing is part of the package... If DMP isn't part of SF Basic anymore, what's the advantage to use of SF? Are there any performance benefits anymore over the standard vendor DSM and Windows LDM? Hi I am having a setup of Veritas SFW for Windows 5.0 with trial license which I am installing on Win 2003. When I proceed with the installation, and at license screen do not enter any license (for trial) and click Next Button, setup terminates abruptly. Has anyone also came across such an issue. Win2008-R2, VSF-5.1, Device name change
We have a situation where we need to rename CD drive from such as D: and E: to X; and Y: . We usually do this before loading and setting up Veritas Storage by using the Microsoft Disk Tool in Device Management. Once VSF is loaded this tool is no-longer available and we cannot use it to rename the drive letter. A CD drive was left as E: and now that VSF is loaded we can not find a way to change its letter, since VSF has taken over the tool we normally use. Does anyone know how we may now change the drive letter on this CD device so when one looks a file explorer, the drive will no longer show as E: but as X: for instance. ?Solved740Views0likes2CommentsSFW Feature Support
