Assertion Failure when launching DLO on Mac
Hi When I launch DLO on Mac, the agent launches and the initializing screen pops up and then disappears. I noticed in the Mac Console logs mutiple entries as shown below: SymantecDLO: *****************************----Assertion Failure----**************************** The DLO Console picks up the computer, but there are no backups for this computer, even though the Symantec DLO process is running. I am also unable to open the DLO Agent console on the Mac. I am using Symantec DLO console version 7.6SP1. Mac DLO agent version is 1.0 build 1102. Any ideas on what may be causing this? Thanks Jimmy914Views0likes1Comment90% of computers running out of RAM from DLO
HI I am new to DLO and am in a primarily macintosh environment. Aproximately 90% of the computers I've installed the client on are unable to complete a backup and are getting errors on the clients saying they are out of memory. I've looked at the memory usage and DLO has been using up to 64GB of RAM! One call to support said not to use the default profile becuase it specifies windows files but I edited the profile only to include the desktop and documents folder and it still is killing 90% of the clients.681Views1like1CommentHow to specify the backup path for a folder inside user directory in DLO 8.0.1 for Mac OS X?

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to either backup the entire Users folder on OS X or to be able to set a path variable like Windows. I am trying to backup OneDrive data that is placed under the user folder. I can easily specify a user directory such as /Users/John/OneDriveBusiness but to do that for nearly 100 users isn't an option. In Windows I am able to utilize a path variable of %USERNAME% to grab each user's files. In OS X, the same command does not work. I tried UNIX variables such as $USER and $LOGNAME without success. Thinking I would be able to grab the entire /Users folder by specifiying /Users, but it doesn't seem to get the entire profile. The admin guide does not go into detail for Macs as it does for Windows. Any help is appreciated.503Views1like1CommentDLO Mac client causes system stability issues
We have investigated deploying the DLO Mac client to our iMac/MacBook Pro population, and have run into some severe issues. I'm wondering how unique our experience might be, or if there's a solution that we should try in order to make DLO usable on the Mac platform. The primary issue we've encountered is that the system is unstable if (and only if) the DLO client is running, including in the background. After the client has been open for about 5 minutes, the hardware needs to turn on the fan because DLO is occupying as much processor time for as many cores as are available. As other apps give up processor time to DLO, thiscauses themto become nonresponsive, and prevents normal use of the computer. During this time, nearly any action within the DLO GUI causes the app to hang/spin, requiring a force-quit. If the GUI if avoided, this appinstability only lasts about an hour - at that point, nearly without fail, a kernel panic occurs. This forces a restart, and at next login the process begins anew. We are extremely hopeful that there is a solution to our woes - be that a fix to the client configuration, or an update to the app itself which does not include these show-stopping bugs. Has anyone else given the Mac client a try?672Views0likes3Comments
