We're in the process of moving to new datacenters. All servers will be moved over but the SAN won't. The SAN will be replicated to a new SAN in the new datacenters by our SAN admins. That means, the LUNs in the new SAN will be identical to the old, also the LUN numbers. Example output from'vxdisk list' on the current host shows: c1t50050768014052E2d129s2 auto:cdsdisk somedisk01 somedg online This disk will get same LUN nr, but the target name will probably differ as it's new hardware in the new DC. Will this work with Veritas SFHA? If not, is there any way to do this the way the datacenter project wants to? If I could choose to do this my way, I would presentthe LUNs on the new SANto my servers so that I could do a normal host based migration. Add the new LUN to the diskgroup and mirror the data, then remove the old LUN. However, I'm told that the hosts in the current datacenter won't be able to see the new SAN.Solved2.2KViews2likes3CommentsHeartbeat requirement for VCS cluster
Hi All, I need an answer for the heartbeat requirement for vcs cluster for master server. I have 2 node global cluster for nbu master server (RHEL 6.5) and ops center server (windows 2008/2012), so to configure cluster server, do we need to have seprate heartbeat (interface and IP) or VCS can work without heartbeat IP. If heartbeat is required, then I would like to know the answers for below : 1) how many minimum heartbeat connections (interface) and dedicated IP required. 2) Heartbeat IP could be on virtual interface 3) after heartbeat do we still need co-ordination disk or CP server also. 4) Also, heartbeat in VCS is required on Windows OS too. I am also consulting with Symantec VCS guy, but they also have to check, so if any one have any idea on these please help. The disk group configuration information is stored on disk in the VxVM private region. The default size of the private region is 32 megabytes. Stored disk group configuration includes a disk header label, configuration records for VxVM objects (such as volumes, plexes and subdisks), and an intent log for the configuration database. Configuration information must be stored on at least one disk in a VxVM disk group. The disk group configuration backup and restoration feature allows you to save and restore all configuration data for VxVM disk groups. Configuration information is critical for the disk group. By using the configuration data from a backup, you can: Reinstall damaged private region headers of VxVM disks in a disk group. Recreate a corrupted disk group configuration. Recreate a disk group and the VxVM objects within it. Recreate a disk group on another system if the original system is not available. Backing up disk group configurations Whenever a configuration is changed, the vxconfigbackupd daemon automatically backs up information about a disk group’s new configuration. You can use the vxconfigbackup utility to manually back up the disk group configuration at any time for one or more disk groups by specifying the disk groups either by name or by identifier (ID). If you do not specify a disk group, all disk group configurations are backed up. For more information on backing up configurations, see: Backing up and restoring disk group configuration data (AIX, Linux, Solaris) About disk group configuration backup (AIX, Linux, Solaris) Backing up a disk group configuration (AIX, Linux, Solaris) vxconfigbackupd(1M) 6.1 manual pages: AIX Linux Solaris vxconfigbackup(1M) 6.1 manual pages: AIX Linux Solaris For information on restoring configuration data, refer to the following Symantec Connect article: SFHA Solutions 6.0.1: Restoring disk group configuration information using vxconfigrestore Symantec Storage Foundation and High Availability documentation for other releases can be found on the SORT website.755Views0likes0Commentscorrupted veritas file system

Hi all, We need to install VCS 6.0 on RHEL 6.x. Both nodes has a robotic library attached. Backup software guide (Networker) talks about a special device file for it provided by cluster vendor, to use the robot as a HA resource. Has someone the procedure to configure that device? I cant found it yet. Regards ClaudioSolved586Views2likes1Commenturgent solutin needed

Yes/No?
Hello All, Myenvironment has a total of 48 drives. But theres only 12-13 drives that actually write and become "Active". The majority of drives state "TLD" and under the "Ready" column, it has "NO". Some drives have multiple paths to servers and others just have one path. Is there a way to enable ALL drives to be "Ready" for a job?SolvedDisk Error
