Vaulted emails and delegations
Hi. We have users who receive delegation to other users emails. Our domain policy is vaulting the emails after 90 days. When the user goes into the vaulted emails that have been vaulted under someone else's username, they are not able to download the attachments. It seems like the text is viewable, but not the attachments - which is a big deal because a lot of what we do is being emailed to us in either pdf or jpg format. We are using Ent Vault v10.2. Even when the user is given the permissions on the exchange server for delegation AND permission to open the vaulted item, they still cannot get the attachment. Has anyone else seen this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!Solved707Views0likes1CommentEnterprise Vault HTTP-only Add-In tab disappears - Outlook 2010
The tab on Outlook 2010 disappears when the user reboots at the end of the day and returns in the morning. Running a repair or re-installing almost always restore the tab, but this problem is consistent with this user (maybe others). Raised the logging level to 3 and below is what I think is the fail log. I’m running into one hold up with how I need to use the Vault of a Shared Mailbox. When logged into Outlook as the shared mailbox profile everything works as expected, I can move emails into the Vault, delete emails in the Vault, etc. However, when I’m logged into Outlook with my individual profile I cannot add emails to the shared mailbox vault. I can see At the very minimum I need to be able to have everyone with access to the shared mailbox be able to put emails into the shared vault while logged into outlook under their individual profiles. Ideally all shared mailbox users would also be able to delete email from the shared mailbox vault while logged into with their individual profiles. Is it possible to set the Vault up this way? Hello All, I have a quick question and I am new to EV so please bare with me. Currently our organization has a default retention policy for all messages that retains forever and Expiry is disabled. Exchange 2007 Managed Custom Folders have been deployed and have synchronized with EV. My question is, if the managed folder has a retention of 2 years and a user moves a non-archived message (older then two years)from a PST into this managed folder and is then archived by EV,will the message be deleted or will the default retention policy apply? Thanks. JSSolved621Views0likes1CommentExport journal to PST failing
Hi, all. I need to export our journal archive into PST files to migrate it to MIMECast. I've already exported 201 GB of personal archives into PSTs with no problems. Whenever I do the journal account, it gets to PST number 28 (about 15GB) and fails. I rang Symantec. The only solution they had was to break down the export into smaller chunks. Fine, but I tried a chunk that was 15 days long and that failed. We've got three years' worth of journaling, and I don't fancy having to start a new export task for every 10 day period. Also, to use that method would mean moving each set of archives into a new folder, so that it won't append the next set of e-mails to the last of the PSTs in the same folder. That method would lead to file naming issues. Whilst the export is going on, the available system memory in taskmanager is slowly going down. It then fails and the available memory creeps back up. I've now got an 80GB page file. The Symantec guy said adding more virtual memory would extend the amount of achives it could do before crashing, but it didn't change anything. I tried tweaking the PST file size. I tried 200MB and it only exported 2 GB before failing. I didn't see the system memory state that time. Is there any way around this? My server spec is: Dell Poweredge 2950 x86 4x Xeon 2.66 4GB RAM Windows 2003 SP2 Standard EV 8 - Service Pack applied but I can't tell which one. Event Viewer has this: Export Archive Report Export status: Incomplete Processing aborted due to an unrecoverable error. Many thanks, guys. We have collections enabled on our journaling stores. the information is collected and stored in cab files correctlybut the original folders structure stay intact. These folders are empty and don’t seem to be used. We use netbackup for backup. Netbackup spends hours just crawling these empty folders. Is there an easy way of getting rid of these folders? Can I just delete them?Solved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsQuerying Archive/mailbox size from EV SQL server

Is the size of the archive ( sum of size of themails archived per mailbox) stored in any format in EV SQL server? 2. OR The only way to find out the total size of the mailbox(items) in the archiveis by finding the individual mailbox items and them getting a sum of their sizes?
