Deleting Backup_ID Cartridge space not reclaimed.
Team, I have a quick question, i have one cartridge in a POOL XYZ, the cartridge is now full. I have monthly, weekly & daily backups. i have deleted the older backups via bpexpdate -backupid ABC01_A_Backup_1344457991 -d 0 bpexpdate -backupid ABC01_A_Backup_1344457990 -d 0 and many more. but i can see the cartridge is still showing me the FULL status and is not able to entertain after deleting the backup id's. Please let me know, how will this deleted space will be reclaimed?Solved559Views7likes1Comment
custom vlt_end_notify script
Hello Folks, i newbie in netbackup. i haveodd problem with custom vlt_end_notify script. this scriptsends and e-mail the Operations, COE staff, and 3rd party vendor if applicable, for the environment so they are aware of the tapes to send off-site and return on-site. It'sworked properly before upgrade from 7.5.0.7 to 7.6.0.3but now every morning the script disappears, and i have only name of thescript with 0 bytes size. i don't see anything odd in active monitor.Could you please tell mewhich way should i dig into?880Views5likes4Comments
Calculating monthly total backup
Hi, New to Netbackup and netbackup community. I'm looking for some help on calculating the total amount of data being backup perMonth, in order to estimate capacity license. I run multiple agents like:Windows filebackup, Oracle, SQL, VMs Some of my backup policies are incremental, differential and fulls; which are weekly and monthly full. I have exported a months worth of data from the activity monitor, this export includes incremental, differential, and full information. The problem I'm having is some of the jobs like the SQL jobs have a (job schedule) that is full_onsite,Default Application,SQL - application and full, I'm not quite sure if I should be adding all of thesebackup into the monthly totals. I am responsible for monitoring failures (as well as fixing and rerunning jobs) on Netbackup. When a failure appears, it's red (or a partial failure is yellow). For me I like to fix and rerun a failed job then delete the job from the activity monitor. For me the failure no longer has an value since a successful follow occurred. Another person on my team would rather see the failure in the activity montitor for 5 days until it drops off for historical value. We have other reporting tools that work for either side of this personal preferance issue as well. BUT, it would be GREAT if the netbackup GUI gave you the ability to color code a line item failure. For example, a failure occurs. It's fixed and rerun. Instead of deleting the initial failure, I would like to highlight it (say blue). Then everybody is happy. For me, the failure has been acknowledged at a glance. Historical tracking is in place for others. Any new failures will be very obvious because no one has changed the color on that failure line. Make sense? I am guessing many people like me would love this enhancement. Am I wrong? How do I go about submitting this idea to the Symantec power team of GUI upgrading? Hi All, We have issue conncting one of our servers in OpsCenters. Netbackup version of master server is 6.5.6 OpsCenter we are using is7.6.0.3 We see data collection is failing forVolume, Volume Group, Volume Pool Below is the data collection status for above components. Hi, I have one master server and two media servers with the same versions bellow: Windows 2012 R2 x64 NBU 7.6.0.4 When I try to logon NBU java admin console with "master server" in host name filed, it shows me this message "Unable to login, status: 509 - Can not execute program" If a change host name to anyone media servers, it running normally, open media server.
