Hello again, is there an option that the Symantec System Revovery Management Console send an Email when a backup job is failed? I know, that is possible when i configure the smtp option on the client. The problem here is, that i cannot send out a email, because the email gateway is not reachable from the production network. The easierst way, when it is possible that the Symantec System Recovery Management Console is sending the email, because the email gateway is reachable from the Management Console. Is there an option? kind regards blacksun815Views0likes6CommentsSymantec System Recovery & SNMP
We've a selection of customers running a range of versions from Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 to Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2. I've enabled SNMP on each and have software to receive the traps running, but nothing is seen. I'm picking up HP alerts so I know that the receiver is alive. The MIB files (identical for each version it seems) have been uploaded to the management tool There's very little in the way of settings in BESR/SSR - tick boxes and one dropdown so I'm assuming there is something behind the scenes that needs to be configured. I've been reading through a variety of articles and manuals. The manual basically says "Tick the boxes and choose from the dropdown" with nothing further. Should I be configuring Windows SNMP services in a particular way or is there some other settings I'm missing somewhere? Any suggestions? Hi friends! I have3 questions about Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2. Many thanks for your help! 1. Monday to Sunday (except Tuesday) I make a "Schedule backup"at 12:10. Tuesdays I do a "Recovery Point Base"at 12:10. If I miss Tuesday's Base and want to make it in retrospect, do I have to go into the "Backup Wizard" and change the date and time every time? 2. If I miss a"Recovery Point Base" on Tuesdays and start the computer the day after, then a popup asks if I want to run missed backups? If I press "yes" on Wednesday, still no "Recovery Point Base" is made - just an ordinary "Shedule". Is that right? 3. I uses Symatec System Recovery 2013 R2 with Windows 8.1 64. Should I really run backup on all disk volumes (see picture)? Great and friendly thanks for the help! // JohannesSolved1.4KViews1like5CommentsStatus gefährdet wenn nicht alle Laufwerke gesichert werden

Hi, I was trying to deploy the BESR agent on a windows 2012 machine but it was failing. Knowing that I have BESR 2010 with the latest service pack. Does BESR 2010 support windows 2012 machines> If not can you please inform me where to download the media for upgrading to backup exec 2013? What are the neccessary steps for the upgrade? Thank youSolved680Views0likes1CommentBackup Exec System Recovery 8.5.3 resetting services cause backup to fail.
I have a server with backup exec system recovery on it, that is not backing up, during the full backup process it fails when the services reset themselves while the backup is running. Using BESR 8.5.3 on a Dell 710 with a RDX1000 drive attached to do the backup. This all started when ops ran a DSET on the Dell system which forced the drive from dma mode to pio mode. When unloading and reloading drivers to try and force it backup using dma rather than pio mode. Deleting and installing the rdx1000 driver package, which hasn't worked thus far. My thought is to unload and reload the drivers for rdx mon to possibly clean up the drivers. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.645Views0likes3CommentsClean-up greyed out on Manage Backup Destination
I want to merge (collapse) some of my incremental backups. However, the Clean-Up button is greyed out. The drive drop down has my external drive in it. However, the backups are within a folder on the drive. I believe the program doesn't see the backups on the root of the drive and therefore it keeps it greyed out. How do I change the DRIVES dropdown to have the path: B:\BACKUPS as opposed to B:\ (as it shows now).Solved1.9KViews0likes12Comments
