Hi, Can anyone share what is the best pratice to do after you archive the Exchange Server mailboxes with EV according to this article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67757) ? Do you still keep it or can you safely delete it from the Exchange Server which will means it deletes the AD account as well. I've never delete all of my Exchange Server mailboxes in the company before because i do not know what or how to access the archived email from the EV console. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksSolved1.4KViews4likes5CommentsSymantec Netbackup 7 licensing
Hi All, I'd like to know if I'm getting this correctly. I'm planning to getNetbackup 7 Starter Editionaccording tob-symc_netbackup_7_core_DS_12995286-2.en-us.pdf(http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/fact_sheets/b-symc_netbackup_7_core_DS_12995286-2.en-us.pdf)Table 2. the Edition comparison the Starter Edition can have 5 Server (supported clients) does this means i can have the following backup items: 1x ESXi 4 server (using vStorage API for inline deduplication - Change Block Tracking) 1x Solaris SPARC + Oracle DB 10gR2 1x Linux 1x Windows Server + Share Point 2007 (Granular restore) 1x Windows Server + Exchange Server 2007(Granular restore) all of the above with bare metal restore capability. Since it is said that i could have: Server Clients, Tape Drive and Database Agents included ? yes I understand that Deduplication is not included here since it will need another license to spend. I'm getting confused here of which product that i should get :-| Would be good if anyone can clarify this please ?Solved1.2KViews4likes6CommentsUnable to see the exchange information store.

Hello, I am new to Symantec BEWS and I have just created a new Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape backup job copying predefined policy "Duplicate Backup Sets 00001". BE Media Server is running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 while the Exchange Server is running Windows Server 2008 SP1 with MS Exchange Agent. Target device for the Disk-to-Disk job is a newly created Backup-to-Disk folder, target media set is a newly created media set with 1 week OPP and 8-hour AP. Last night the Disk-to-Disk backup job ran the first time and completed successfully without errors. This morning I went through the device and media information section under job history. This section showed "B2D000006", "IMG000004" and "IMG000005" as used media, but how comes that "B2D000006" media belongs to pre-defined Scratch Media set while both "IMG000004" and "IMG000005" belong to the newly created media set according to Template properties ? I know that GRT-enabled backup jobs result in IMG folders being created during job execution, but how comes that media created during the same backup job is associated to different media sets ? Furthermore how comes that used capacity for that media is not shown under Devices -> Backup-to-Disk folders -> My Backup-to-Disk folder while used capacity for other media under different Backup-to-Disk folders used for normal file backup jobs is displayed ? Any help is much appreciated. Have a great day. Regards, Massimiliano259Views4likes1Comment
