BackUp Exec 2010 r3 SharePoint 2010 Agent for Microsoft SharePoint A while back my SharePoint backup job started to fail. I opened up a ticket with Symantec with no success. What I realized is once I ran the powershell command "psconfigui" to update the configuration and content databases for SharePoint that the job ran without issue for 2 days or so. Then it would error again. Job ended: Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 10:01:17 PM Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe0009b61 - The logon account that was provided does not have valid credentials. Ensure that the user name and password are correct, and then try again. Final error category: Security Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-39777 I would then run the "psconfigui" and it will run without issue for about 2 days. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone have and ideas or solution?1.1KViews0likes6CommentsSharepoint GRT meta data index catalog very very slow

Background: So we have Backup Exec 2012 and two Data Domain DD620's. We have all the required licensing including the Data Domain DD Boost and replication licenses. I have installed the Open Storage Technology (OST) plugin 2.5.0.3 as suggested for the version of BE. Both DD boxes are visable and connected to my BE server. I have foud some documentation and a video that explains some of what I am looking for but not entirely and most of it is for BE2010. The BE 2012 documentation from DD is not up to date yet. I am trying to setup backups as my tape drive has had enough and is not working properly. Anyone I have talked to just says you backup to it, then I continue finding little things that need to be done. No verify, no precompression, some said no deduplication in the job, other said server side dedupe because DDBoost manages it with OST plugin. Too much information and not enough people knowing what to tell me. The DD weekend support guys don't know the software titles they just know the hardware. I need help now unfortunately... Question: What settings do I use for Backups? I have Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL agents.6.5KViews1like32CommentsBE_ST Tool, VxGather and tracer.exe viewer

Hi! I've recently had to reinstall our BE2010 R3 setup on a new server, ever since I've not been able to select our Sharepoint 2007 farm, I keep getting this error: "None of the web servers for the specified server farm could be accessed" This happens when I try to add the server farm to the list. What I find most curious is, before I could just browse the sharepoint server, and it would detect the sharepoint farm automatically. What just happened?942Views0likes6CommentsSharepoint Server Recovery
Hi. I have a few questions about backing up Sharepoint via Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3. So, I choose to run a daily full on all the sharepoint data on a particular server farm. Per the best practices, I'm supposed to also backup the sql databases, that sharepoint uses. However, when I expand the Microsoft SQL server node, on the sharepoint server, the sharepoint databases are greyed out and areunable to be selected. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO21789 Also, thefull backup (sharepoint only selected) completes with a warning telling me that thesharepoint databases are 'configured to maintain transaction logs', which I think means that they are in full recovery mode. It goes on to say that 'transaction log backups are not being performed', and 'that the log will keep growin'. All of which I know is true when you have a database in a full recovery model. I know that my options are either to: 1) change the db to simple (for now, I'd really like to keep point in time restore, even though I do daily backups) 2) backup the database using the backup exec sql agent (which, as I described above, backup exec DOES NOT ALLOW me to do) 3) run a maintenance plan using sql management studio on the respective databases (which I'm apprehensive to do, because I don't know what the effect will be with backup exec) Can anyone help shed some light on what I should be doing to backup BOTH my databases and sharepoint info, per the best practice.672Views0likes4CommentsAnyone have an idea how to fix Final error: 0x320050 - 0x 320050 (3276880)

Hi, We are currently testing our Backup Exec 2010 R3 backups of our SharePoint 2010 installation. Backup Exec and it's agents have all been patched to the latest level including hotfixes. We tried making a backup of a site onto tape. Then deleted the site and tried restoring it again. We end up with the following errors, which we cannot find any information on (also nothing in the Windows Event Viewer or in the SharePoint logs): The Job Information, Job Operation - Restore, Set Information, Restore Set Information shows the error: V-79-57344-65300 - The Sharepoint resource is not responding. Backup set canceled. This is strange, because the SharePoint server responds just fine (it ran a backup just a few minutes earlier). Further down in the Job Log, at the Job Completion Status,it says: Job ended: 8. december 2011 at 14:31:25 Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe0001602 - Access is denied (Share point backup). Final error category: Security Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-5634 And under Errors: Click an error below to locate it in the job log Restore V-79-57344-65300 - The Sharepoint resource is not responding. Backup set canceled. Can anyone help us getting this running? Best regards, Jan.1.9KViews0likes16Comments
