How to backup MySQL using NBU 11
Hi everyone, I am trying to configure the protection for one MySQL instance, but I am getting stuck. I have followed the NetBackup™ for MySQL Administrator's Guide, but it doesn't help at all. The backup job still results in status code (6) The backup failed to back up the requested files. Here are all the configuration I have made: - In /etc/my.cnf, I added theses line [mysqld] port=3306 datadir=/var/lib/mysql socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock log-error=/var/log/mysql/mysqld.log pid-file=/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid - I created symbolic link: ln -s /usr/bin/mysql /usr/libexec/mysql - I successfully created a credential for mysql instance and a protection plan. I also discovered all the databases in the instance The log indicates that ERR - MySQL library path is not present, but I don't know to how make the NetBackup Agent where to find the MySQL library path. Did I miss any configuration steps ? Can you help me debug this problem ?
MySQL Agent for NetBackup 8.1.2
Hello everyone, So I was trying to understand more about the MySQL backup and found out there's an agent for NetBackup (v8.1.2) which should be installed. As per the following article: https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/127649594-133325756-0/v130528353-133325756 The downoad should be available at myveritas.com, but when I click the link it redirects me to the support page, in which I can't manage to find any Agent for MySQL in the related downloads. I tried browsing vox.veritas.com as well, but couldn't find anything, am I miss something? Is there a download link somewhere? Hello Everybody, I wanted to let you all know that as of March 29, 2018, MySQL 5.6.39 Upgrade for eDiscovery Platform 8.3 and 9.0 has been released MySQL Upgrade for eDiscovery Platform 8.3 / 9.0 https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100034299 The Veritas eDiscovery Platform MySQL Upgrade installer has been created to allow customers to upgrade their eDiscovery Platform 8.3 and 9.0 installs to the latest tested version of MySQL to meet security needs. This installs MySQL version 5.6.39. The upgrade includes both the MySQL Server software as well as the MySQL connector library used by the eDiscovery Platform. If you're not already, make sure you subscribe to the article to get notified of future MySQL upgrades as they're released. The upgrade can be applied by downloading from the aforementioned link and installing from the exe file. Please make sure to follow the steps listed in the article, especially the step of performing a full node backup.
