S3 Cloud Storage setup across AWS accounts
Currently using NetBackup to backup servers in a single AWS account to S3 using an IAM user/access keys. This is working fine for backing up to S3 buckets in that account, but there is another AWS account that the NetBackup IAM user has cross acount access to that we want our master server to manage the backups of. The thing I'm trying to figure out is how do I configure netbackup cloud storage to use the IAM user in Account #1 to access/backup to the S3 buckets in Account #2? The IAM user is working just fine and I can access and manage the S3 buckets through CLI from the master in account #1 to account #2, but when configuring cloud storage, it doesn't have an option to say to use account #2's S3 bucket. It only loads the buckets in account #1 or gives me an option to Add Volume which seems to try and create the bucket in Account #1. Is it possible to point it directly to an existing bucket in a different account when the IAM user has cross account permissions or is an IAM user needed for each AWS account being accessed? Dears Currently we backup our PostgreSQL 10.5 databases to NBU via Zmanda NBU Plugin as below 1. Full backup 2. Incremental Backup ( archive log ) Can someone please clarify on the below ? 1. Can the same operations above be done by NBU Agent for PostgreSQL ? 2. Is PostgreSQL 12.x supported by the NBU PostgreSQL agent ? Appreciate your quick response in this regard Thanks Anand
VxUpdate Command nbrepo.exe -a Failed
Hello, When I run the nbrepo -a command to add the package, I get the following message: install_path\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\>nbrepo.exe -a C:\Util\vxupdate_nbclient_8.1.2_redhat_x64.sja Adding package to the repository. Been testing backup of Windows Server 2019 using NetBackup 8.1.2. Full backup was successful but the differential incremental was partially successful with file C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs\System.evtx giving access denied warnings. Has anyone noticed this? Or is anyone successfully backing up Windows Server 2019 using traditional client method?
Azure Cloud Catalyst Configuration
We want to deploy Cloud Catalyst in our environement with Azure. We have couple of queries around the same: 1) Azure has a limit of 100TB per container. Can we add multiple container within same Cloud Catalyst? 2) End-to-End data encryption in Cloud Catalyst is supprted, should we use KMS or SSL Certificate based encryption? 3) NetBackup supports HOT or COLD or both Storage Type for Azure?
