Backup of SAP HANA with multitenant database container with netbackup.
Hi, I have one query? We have netbackup 7.7.2 and SAP HANA with multitenant database container. For one instance we have to do following configurations on SAP HANA studio: Create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script for every database instance. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for data in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration-> global.ini > data_backup_parameter_file. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for logs in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify backup using the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_parameter_file. To specify backup using the backint file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_using_backint->SYSTEM = true. My problem is that how to configure backup for multitenant database container (For multiple Instance ) We have cluster "Dev" with multitenant database container having 3 instance "Dev" "Quality" and "SystemDB" The problem is that DBA is telling that create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script . DBA inform us that,It is not possible due to Database instances in SAP HANA database will be in hidden mode. So we cannot create the links. Requesting you to help me in this. Hi All, I have implemented regular scanning of backup images. If the scan status is "Infected" I want to send a notification by e-mail. The notification could be scripted using REST API for sure. However is there any other option utilizing WebUI, Java GUI or Alta View? Thank you, Lubos15Views0likes0CommentsNetBackup 11 is Here

Dear online team, Since upgrading from NetBackup 9.1 to NetBackup 10.4 we I have errors with Oracle backups if two jobs are run simultaneously. Let's say large database that needs 10 hours for the FULL backup to complete. During the time this backup is running, another Archive Log backup starts. (we have archive log backups running every half hour) This Archive Log backup fails with following error that was not the case previously: (5457) Database must not contain any data files that are in backup mode. This was not the case before and you could run as many jobs as you want at the same time.. This only happens to container databases that has pluggable databases inside the container. CDBs Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any help would be really appreciated. I even updated to NetBackup 10.5 but issue still remains..47Views0likes1CommentError: Detected an attempt to install incorrect platform and/or operating system and version client binaries

Dear community, I need some help. I have setup one datastore backup policy that runs Application backup of PostgreSQL database. Now I am looking in how to manage WAL backups. I need the logs backed up at least once an hour so that I can restore any hour of the day. Meaning hour back if needed. (Oracle database backups have intelligent policies to manage backup of logs, but this is not the case for PostgreSQL) I have thought of creating another Standard policy that will run every hour to backup specific directory where all WAL files will be located. I could use crontab to schedule hourly job that runs bparchive command and set it to automatically delete files that have been backed up. However, this becomes very difficult to manage on NetBackup and client side, if you plan to have around 500 databases in the future. Protection plan is a no-go, as it is not very useful and does not allow for customization of SLPs. (meaning you will end up using a lot of disk backup storage) Has anyone found good solution for backing up PostgreSQL databases? Thank you for your assistance in this.
