Backup Exec 2014 RHEL 6
Hi, according to SCL there's still no official support for RHEL 6.6, which basically leads to "i'll wait to update until it's supported". Now this may cause security or bug fixes problems in the meanwhile and i've read around that the big difference between supported and unsupported is caused by the kernel release, now: rhel/centos 6.6 2.6.32-504.el6 rhel/centos 6.5 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6 Honestly i dont think this may cause that BIG difference, but i can't see around any kernel version related SCL.... So my (double) question is: - has anybody updated and everything is still working fine? - should i insted wait until 6.6 magically appears in the scl? And mostly, will the update 6 of branch 6 be supported? Thx!Solved583Views2likes2CommentsDevelopment Backup Exec.Cloud
Hi all, Looking at the number of forum posts on the Backup Exec.Cloud product, it seems that either no-one is having questions or issues, or that the number of customers is limited.. Is this the main location for discussing questions and information on the product? We have switched to Backup Exec.Cloud for all our customers last year and are waiting for a couple of major improvements: Currently, we cannot backup shares that are DFS replicated. This makes the product unusable on larger networks Network shares cannot be selected for backup. We would need this to backup data stored on NAS devices. Only local drives are supported (don't know about iscsi) Also on our wishlist is better reporting and possibly intergration with tools like N-able for better MSP monitoring. Finally, the options to troubleshoot Backup Exec.Cloud related issues ourself is limited. Every problem needs to be fixed by Symantec support which in some cases takes quite some time, thus leaving customers without a working backup. Where is development of this product heading?Solved1KViews0likes2Comments
