Outlook compatibility error attempting to upgrade
Hi there, I'm attempting to upgrade my new EV lab box from 12.4 to 14.1. In that lab I could never get enable mailbox working and wondered if it was because I was running Exchange 2019 CU8. So I'm attempting to upgrade to 14.1. The deployment scanner is failing the Outlook test saying The installed version of Microsoft Outlook ('16.0.4266.1003') is not supported by Enterprise Vault. For the latest information on supported versions of Microsoft Outlook, see the Enterprise Vault Compatibility Charts at However checking the chart everything should be fine, it mentions a Microsoft patch which when I download and install says is not required for this version. Initially the server incorrectly had Outlook x64 on and I've subsequently uninstalled it and reinstalled Outlook. Anything I'm doing wrong here or any advise? Hi, Does anyone has tried removing Enterprise Vault via commands mentioned below provide in a article (original link)? I am able to remove the Vault client software and cache & registry vault with below script but Vault folder "Vault - USER NAME" is still visible in outlook 2016 folder panel. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated. Vault client version is 12.0.4.1124 (x64bit) and for 32bit some users we have (12.1.1.1451). rmdir /Q /S "%userprofile%\appdata\Local\KVS\Enterprise Vault" REG Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KVS\Enterprise Vault" /f Regards, Waqas4.4KViews0likes5CommentsOUTLOOK: Can't open archived/stored emails
Hello, Since this week Microsoft updates, Outlook (2010/2016) can't open archived/stored items.Maybe, Outlook is blocking VBScript of custom forms. I'm using EV Client 10/11. To view an email, the users must "restore" to the mailbox and then open it. The message is: This item has been archived by Enterprise Vault. Click here to view the original item(this link doesn't work). Thank you.26KViews2likes27CommentsOutlook searches fail - Enterprise vault
Running Windows 7 64bit Office 2016 Enterprise vault My searches inside outlook normally incldue my current local exchange folders as well asthe "My Vault" folders. Recently the searches stopped giving any results for anything in the vault. I have rebuilt the Windows Index several times, even stopped the service, cleared it and let it rebuild from scratch. I have fiddled with the what to search section several times trying a variety of folders. Nothing I've done has worked. I cannot get the Outlook search to give results from the vault folders. The "Search Vaults" web interface does function, but it is very kludgy to use compared to using Outlooks search utility. It slows me down considerably as I am constantly searching for things in my vault folders. Can anyone help me get the indexing working againincluding the enterprise vault folder results? I am out of ideas to cure or troubleshoot.Solved5.2KViews0likes3CommentsOutlook VBA to delete e-mail containing Enterprise Vault shortcut
I have built an Outlook VBA macro to delete items matching specific criteria. It works well for normal e-mails, however, if the e-mail contains an Enterprise Vault shortcut, I first get prompted, "You have chosen to delete one or more Enterprise Vault shortcuts". I'd like to eliminate or manage that prompt. However, the bigger issue is that whether I answer "Delete Shortcuts" or "Delete Both", I get a runtime error 287, "Application-defined or Object-defined error." I can identify the shortcuts with MessageClass = "IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault.Shortcut", however, I don't know how to deal with them to prevent the error. If I had to use VBA code to restore the shortcut, that would be acceptable.710Views0likes1CommentHow to filter Shortcuts in Outlook / Searchfolder Creation
Hey out there! I'm litte bit confused that I did not find any topics regarding to that issue. But how is it possible, e.g. to filter within at leastthe outlook advancedfilter functionfor ev shortcut items? In my advanced filter field criterias are no relevant tags. If i select from forms, I got Enterprise Vault - Archived Items for example, but only as category. So I can not build an filter statement. All EV-Items must have a different IPM_Note Class or another distungished attribute for filtering. In next step, it would be interessting if someone created with this distinguished attributes searchfolders for every mailbox, to avoid users creating more advanced filters. I know, this will work only via EWS. Thanks in advance!Solved2.6KViews0likes4CommentsMigration EV Cluster 10.0.2 to 12.1.12
Hello, In a few weeks I have to migrate an EV cluster (2008 R2) in 10.0.2 to EV 12. I know that you cannot "just" upgrade like that and that EV12 cannot be installed on W2K8R2 but on a WS2012/R2. No problem at all for this. My main problem (if we can say that is a problem) is the add in. As the company is on his way to migrate to exchange 2016 and O365, I was asking myself: can I use the EV12x in O2016 vO365 with EV 11? I brief, I was planning to do it like that Upgrade from Enterprise Vault 10 to Enterprise Vault 11 Upgrade Office 2007 to 2016 v Office 365 (with EV12 Add-In - TBC) Installation Exchange 2016 Upgrade EV11.x to 12 via Migration Wizard Make the final changes to reflect new infra (Add DD as VS and New Exchange Servers) Add new EV to Backup Deploy Outlook Add-in Add New Exchange Servers to EV12 Migrate mailboxes (Exchange part) Migrate archives from VNX to DD Check if all OK That's in 'raw' how I woudl do it. Just that add-in question that remains. Cheers!965Views0likes2CommentsEV IMAP - Only Top Level Folders Visible in Outlook 2016 for MAC
Hello everyone, I've been running an IMAP pilot for Mac users with Outlook 2016. The intention here is to have functionality like Virtual Vault so that we can get rid of the shortcuts in their mailboxes. I've been able to set IMAP up successfully and we can create profiles in the pilot Outlook clients. However, we're seeing an issue that seems to be particular to Outlook 2016 for Mac where only the top-level folders show up in the IMAP profile. Digging deeper, we've found that the Outlook client will only automatically subscribe to those top-level folders, and the user must manually subscribe to subfolders if they want to see them. I've spent the past two days looking for an option where all folders would be subscribed to by default, but I have had no luck thus far. Does anyone know of a setting or hack that would force Outlook 2016 for Mac to subcribe to all folders in an IMAP profile by default? Thanks for any help! JJJ685Views0likes0Comments
