RALUS backup job fails with "A communications failure has occurred".
hi, I'm using Backup Exec 2012. Backup job for one linux server fails with error: e000ff11 - A communications failure has occurred with a Linux or Unix resource. V-79-57344-65297 I confirmed TCP Port 10000 is opened and the security credential is correct. Using RALUS version: 14.0.1798.0. Dears ,,, Greetings, we have Symantec Backup Exec 2012 Version 14.0 Rev. 1798 (64-bit) installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. We used to have a remote agent for oracle (Symantec symbdsnap, build 2.0.1-1783) installed on a Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 64-bit Kernal 2.6.32-300.10.1.el5uek and it was working fine. Recently, we have updated the operating system to Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.10 64-bit kernal 2.6.39-400.209.1.el5uek. The agent is being installed successfully but when go through the log it says (This platform is not supported. Exiting install.VxIF::Error:: ERROR: Installing SymSnap Driver Failed.). Is there a another version or anyother way to deploy an agent for Backup Exec on this server.

Backup exec cannot establish trust relationship with remote linux agent
I just upgraded from 2010 R2 to R3 (5204). The media server is a Windows 2008. I also installed Service Pack 2. One of the main reasons was to get the media server to work with new agents. So i have installed VRTSralus-13.0.5204-0.x86_64.deb in two Ubuntu/Linux servers, but when trying to connect to those servers i get a message like this (screenshot also attached): "Backup Exece cannot establish a trust relationship with the remote agent because of a security certificate signing request failure..." Remote Agent Download Links
Where can I find the download links for the Backup Exec 2010 R2 REMOTE AGENTs for linux and solaris? All I have access to is ralus4164SP1.tar.gz and seeing as that is a service pack upgrade I cant do a clean install from that. I have been looking for hours and days on the poor symantec site.

there are some backup jobs run in Backup Exec 2012 , only two full backup jobs complete with exceptions in the lastest backup task. The credential of this backup job test result was failed. we haven't change any password or credential of this job. RALUS Install on Linux Mint 13

Installing VRTSralus 14.0.1798 on aservername..................Failed to install The end lines of the logs are below, and the complete log is attached as installralus.txt: - VxIF::Error:: Error in install_product_packages, target host == aservername. VxIF::Info:: Unable to install RALUS on all target hosts. VxIF::Error:: Unable to install RALUS on the target systems. And I have made sure the libstdc++5 is installed. Any help appreciated.

beremote is the hihgest user of io and is only using at most 600kbps. I don't see this being a network mismatch or other issue with the server since connection to nfs and other are fine. All the troubleshooting documents I could find focused more on the install and getting it to run. It's running, but too slow to effectively backup the server.

Linux Incremntal backups.
I have a linux server I am trying to backup. I want to do Full and incremental backups. I understand that the archive bit isn't understood by Linux. From what I have gathered you need to go off a modified date mode to get incrementals to function. Can anyone explain to me how to get this working. I am looking for doc and can't really find anything.
