Catalogue Reporting from Backup Exec 12.5
Hello time-travelers, No it's not 2010. No need to adjust your clocks. What's the easiest way to run a discovery report on the Backup Exec 12.5 catalogue please? Are there any native or 3rd party tools that could help the discovery? Looking for simple information about: * Names of clients with valid backup images in the catalogue. * Date ranges of valid backup images in the catalogue. * Any data restores performed in last 2 years. Background: We have a legacy Backup Exec 12.5 platform running on Server 2003 that's been sitting idle for a number of years. The last backup image was created about 2 years ago, so it definitely has valid images. We have finally decided to decommission the old platform, but our Risk team wants to know what data is still being held on backups before they'll sign off on the "early" destruction. Thanks in advance for any advice.883Views0likes0CommentsHow to create a replication (AIR) duration report

Hello community! I hope you are very well, I have a question, I need to generate an OpsCenter report which will throw me ALL the data backed up during the period of one month (example: 01/01/2020 - 01/31/2020). Any recommendation? I have tried with some templates that the OpsCenter, but I have not had much success, with the FileSystem I have no problems with the backed up data shown in the OpsCenter report facing the backed up data shown in the NetBackup console, but if I have problems to reflect the backed up data from databases and integrations of that type. For example, in this test case, I used the OpsCenter "Jobs by Application" template, since it shows me the total data backup and also the amount of files backed up, is just what I need. In this case I used two clients in a limited date range (06-02-2020 00:00 AM - 06-02-2020 23:59 PM). In the Netbackup console I can see that the client "sqlssfftrx" (MS-Windows integration PRD-SQLSSFFTRX-FS) made a backup of approximately 45 GB, but in the OpsCenter report it shows me 43.01 GB. It should be noted that the number of files backed up coincides on both sides (1,185 files), but not the amount of data backed up. Why does this happen? My biggest problem is when I see in the Netbackup console the Jobs of the client "nancagua.prestored.cl" (SQL integration PRD-SQLSSFFTRX-SQL) launched several channels for each Database, in which it shows that it made a backup of 11 GB approx. per channel (even in some DBs it is a larger amount), but in the OpsCenter report it only shows me 11.34 GB, and even the amount of supported files does not match what the Netbackup console shows. What is this about? Maybe I am configuring and parameterizing the OpsCenter report incorrectly, although I used it with its default settings. Or maybe the template I'm using is not the one for what I need. I attached some images where you can see the comparison of the OpsCenter Report v / s shown in the Netbackup console. If you need more information please request it. Sorry for my bad English, I am very grateful to be able to count on your help.823Views0likes0CommentsPolicy Success Summary - Daily Report
I would like to create a daily report that shows in a summary if a policy was successful or not. That is, one column should be the policy and the other whether it was successful or not ( a success rate would also be OK ). One row per policy only, so it could be used as a quick daily check. I have created a custom report with 'Policy Name' and 'Attempt Success Rate' but it doesnt work in the above way. Some backup jobs have also one or two associated duplication jobs (as per their SLP). However, I haven't been able to create reports that show the associated jobs as one entity or grouped together. It seems that they are considered as independend jobs in reports. We'd like to know if a client backup along with all its asociated jobs was successful or not, without the need to manually associate the jobs. A success would mean that all associated jobs were succeesful. The short report should reflect that. If a policy shows as succesful then it means that all policy jobs and associated (duplication) jobs were also succesful. Thank you.751Views0likes0CommentsReport Backup VM discovered By TAG

I found this request "SELECT DiskPerTapeReadBytesPerSec, DiskPerTapeWriteBytesPerSec, Frequency_PerfTime, Name, Timestamp_PerfTime FROM Win32_PerfRawData_TapePerf_NetBackupDiskPerTape"on one of the old forums, but as far as I understand it does not work at this time. Having looked through all the documentation I did not find at the remembrance of this I would like to understand how you get data about tape lib for example for veritas NetBacup OpsCenter. Whether is possible to get this information from command line? Thanks =)2.8KViews0likes12CommentsTape report OpsCenter
