EV SQL Query to show Archive Size Info and User Mapping
I have 2 sql queries, 1 which shows a list of all my archives and their sizes: SELECT [ArchiveName], ArchivedItems, CAST(ArchivedItemsSize AS decimal(20, 0)) AS ArchivedItemsSize, ModifiedDate From view_ListVaults INNER JOIN [EnterpriseVaultDirectory].[dbo].[ArchiveView] ON view_ListVaults.ArchivePointId = [EnterpriseVaultDirectory].[dbo].[ArchiveView].[VaultEntryId] and one which shows Mailbox name and the excahneg info for that archive: SELECT EME.MbxDisplayName "Mailbox Name", ESE.ExchangeComputer "Exchange Server", EMS.Name "Exchange Database", EME.AdMbxDN "AD Details", VSE.VaultStoreName "Vault Store" FROM ExchangeMailboxEntry EME, ExchangeMailboxStore EMS, ExchangeServerEntry ESE, Root R, Archive A, VaultStoreEntry VSE WHERE EME.MbxStoreIdentity = EMS.MbxStoreIdentity AND EMS.ExchangeServerIdentity = ESE.ExchangeServerIdentity AND EME.DefaultVaultId = R.VaultEntryId AND R.RootIdentity = A.RootIdentity AND A.VaultStoreEntryId = VSE.VaultStoreEntryId ORDER BY ESE.ExchangeComputer, EMS.Name, EME.MbxDisplayName Ideally i would like to combine these 2 to show the archive name size or archive number of items modified data and the billing username or smtp adderss associated with the archive. Hi All, My current Symantec Enterprise Vault server, usage from:http://<EV-Server-Name>/enterpriseVault/usage.aspis as follows: Enterprise Vault - Vault Store Usage Information: Total number of Vault Stores : 1 Total number of Active Archives : 1,984 Total number of items : 89,632,013 Total size of items : 18,391,974 MB Average size of items : 266 KB Total number of items awaiting backup : 9,236,566 My questions are: Total number of Active Archives: is this the number of mailbox or .PST when I export all ? Total size of items: is this the total disk space that I will require when all those .PST files exported to removable USB HDD ? Total number of items awaiting backup: Is this the number of email in Exchange Server that waiting to be archived to EV ? Note: I'm runningEnterprise VaultVersion: 11.0.1.3683 and the SQL Server is on separate server. Hi, i have EV 8.0 and get the error reported in EV Admin Console - Status checks: "It is more than 1 days since some partitions were scanned to check for newly-archived items that have not been backed up or replicated." (as described : http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/312348.htm) we have employed the SQL backups as per http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/322715.htm we also have the EV server being backed-up over the network via Symantec Backup Exec 12.0 (all drives where EV and associated d/b are installed, as well as the System State and Shadow Copy Components). these backups are reported as successful from within SQL Server 2005 (locally), and Backup Exec (from remote server) I believe the archive flag is being reset, as we're not getting any errors regarding 'no backups done since...' etc. in EV when i observe the statsfrom within EV Admin Console > Vault Store Groups > Express Vault Store Group > Express Vault Store > Express Vault Store Ptn1 >properties:Backup: "Last item secured: 20/08/2010 "Last scan started: 20/08/2010 "Unsecured items found in last scan: 187 "Items secured in last scan: 279981 (this is taken today, 23/08/2010) i manually initiated the scan a few days ago (20/08/2010)by restarting the Storage Service, and this cleared the counters (and the error), this is because the last reported scan was about 10 days earlier what is causing the scan not to runautomatically ? can i set this manually or can i check this setting somewhere from within the EV Admin Console? thanks Ben thanksSolved4.4KViews0likes18CommentsEnterprise Vault Retention Settings
Hi everyone, I as of yesterday have been handed responsibility of the Enterprise Vault for my company. I have a little bit of experience with the product, but right just winging it until I full understand it. We of course have no documentation available so I have been reading through Symantec posts here on the forums. I do however have a few questions when it comes to emails being deleted from the vault and the retention period involved. As of today our site's Storage Expiry is set to have emails expire based on the Archived Date. Now that's cool, but I can't find anywhere in the VAC which tells me how many months or years these emails are kept based on the archived date. It could be 6 months from the archived date or it could be 3 years. I don't know and I cannot find anything telling me this in the VAC. I attempted to look up Storage Expiry reports in the event viewer, but could not find the event ID's 7085 or 7086 since we are on EV v10.02.1112. Our email environment is Exchange 2010. On the VAC, when I look at mailboxes in the Archives, I see the Expired Items say "Will be deleted", so I know they are deleting. That being said, does anyone in the community here know where I can in the VAC or otherwise and find how many months or years emails are kept in the vault based on the Archived Date? When I look at the Archive Settings for the site, the retention category has been labeled Business. When I look in Exchange though, I see no retention policy called Business, so my impression is this an Enterprise Vault retention policy. I have found no way to see the date range associated with the this "Business" policy either. Hello, We've got several users who claim that, when opening an EV item, it appears the message: "The custom form cannot be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead. The form required to view this message cannot be displayed. Contact your administrator." Tried the following: - Cleared the cached forms, - Renamed FRMCACHE.DAT to FRMCACHE.old, - Recreated Outlook profile, No sucess. User's don't and can't have acess to administrative permission in any files on Registry. The only thing i came up with was to re-create the whole user windows profle, which it worked. The computers are Windows XP with SP3 installed and EV v10.0.17573. Does anyone have other tips or solutions for this problem, besides having to re-create the whole profile ? Hi I have a customer running 10.0.3 HF2 on Windows 2008R2 Std (same error used to happen when it was at 10.0.1 by the looks of it) The index admin service reports event 41320 with the text as follows: A periodic Index Admin check could not determine the status of one or more Index Volumes that are managed by this server. (Error: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.) Other relevant information : Single EV Server (SQL server is a seperate machine), Exchange Mailbox and Journaling from Exchange 2003 and 2010. Large searches of the journal archives also timeout - event id 41315 - A search failed with the error "The Search did not complete in the required time" - the details of this indicate the timeout is set to 120. Hi all, So on a support case the topic of failed items in indexes has come up. Out of a user population of 8000 we had around 600 archives with indexes with failed items in them. I think this is just because we have never tackled this before. So I ran the below SQL query to fetch them all and I will work through them in the coming days. Hi Guys, I have a request to find a way to get information out of EV 10 about all the users archived and the items archived bases on size pr mail. Advanced search does not give me what I need because EV Admin account does not have access to all archives. So I belive only way to get what I need is thru SQL query. I need to be able to get infomation on all mail archived pr user, and the size. More spesific mail larger than 25MB. And a way to export that information to a spreed sheet. Hello EV Admins Attached is a custom powershell script written by myself to monitor health of journal mailboxes in our environment like Number of items, size of database, oldest/newest items etc. The script generages HTML report using various parameters and sends over email to configured recipients via any SMTP server which has Anonymous authentication supported using any from address liked. The powershell script is tied to a bat file which is configured in task scheduler to run every x number of hours accordingly.
