HELP!!! CANT RESTORE WINDOWS 7
Hallo. Experts, geeks, MVP’s,J I hope you people can help. We currently have a very big problem. Suddenly we cannot backup and restore any windows 7 pc. Our image is deployed with software central. It’s both x86 and x64 image. Our server that deployed the image is a Microsoft server 2012 . So our system partition is 350 mb and c drive the remaining space. There are non-backup programs that can restore it. We have used: Symantec v.11 /v. 13 Snapshot. Acronis. Hdclone We have tried all sorts of setting in bios and so on. The funny thing is that a windows xp is no problem. Even if we install a windows 7 by hand from a DVD. No problem. Our other department have build there image a bit different. There is no system partition. It’s all on the c drive. That is also working fine to restore. We even tried to build the BCD from scratch. With no luck. We have sent one of our pc’s to snapshot in Germany they also could not restore it. Our hardware is HP elitedesk from 8100 to the newest 800 g1 its business pc. So they have all got a tpm chip installed. So guys what could we have missed. What could possibly be the problem???Solved3.1KViews2likes16CommentsSystem recovery, dissimilar hardware, 3 partitions on original hard drive
I am using a trial version of system recovery 2011. I have created a restore point of my original hard drive. The drive has 3 partitions 25 gb each. When I created the restore point it created 3 separate restores, 1 for each drive (C,D,E). I would like to run the restore on a new drive that is 80 GB, but when it asks for the restore point to use I can only select 1(C) not all 3 (C,D,E)and the resize option is grayed out so I can not shrink the drive. How can I get all 3 partitions back in the same size partitions?382Views2likes1Commentdoes SR 2013 R2 support recovery to different hardware for windows 2003?
hi there, in summary, my only question is this: does "symantec system recovery 2013 r2" support the recovery to different hardware for windows 2003 r2 machines? please read the details to understand why i'm asking. thank you! i'm completely new to "system recovery 2013 r2", and i'm attempting to evaluate its use in restoring windows servers to different hardware. my first test case is using windows 2003 r2. i spoke yesterday with a sales engineer, and he said i would need to install the server version of sr 2013 r2 on the source machine, and then create the sr boot disk. i went to install sr, and got the following warning: "This system does not meet the requirements to install the Symantec System Recovery Disk creation utility. The recovery disk creation utility feature is supported on Windows 2008 (and later) and Windows 7 (and later). Note: Symantec does not ship the recovery disk with System Recorery 2013 R2 and hence includes a utility in the installer to create a recovery environment." the sales documentation and the compatibilty list on the symantec website specifically lists windows 2003 r2 as supported, and the engineer i spoke with yesterday also said that it would work. so i went to look for the downloadable .iso instead, but i found a tech article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH225888) that specifically states that downloadable iso's are no longer provided. any guidance would be appreciated. --aaron1KViews1like3CommentsWhat is the highest version of Backup Exec System Restore for SBS2003?
Hello all, I have an SBS2003 with BESR v8.5. I like the software, but MS is telling me the drivers included in v8.5 can cause system instability. We are considering an upgrade if available. Thanks, -JohnSolved702Views1like2CommentsSSR 2011 - Restoring Windows 7 Pro 64-bit BSOD
All, I have multiple clients running System Recovery 2010 on their servers to NAS. Backups complete without issue. We recently had to restore to similar hardware which was a breeze. I have downloaded System Recovery 2011 Trial to a Dell Latitude Z. Grabbed the hot image to USB and booted the new laptop, Dell XPS 14Z, with the SRD and attempted a Restore Anywhere job. I tried this multiple times, about 8 to be exact all with different configurations and options changed or chosen. My problem is, I cannot recommend these products anymore unless I am 100% sure that a server, let alone laptop, can be restored to dissimilar hardware. Please help and advise how I can get this functioning. I am including a screenshot of the Latitude Z's drives from Disk Management. Please guide me though this or I will be in the dog house for recommending SSR. Thank you, Vinny420Views1like1Comment
