HELP!!! CANT RESTORE WINDOWS 7
Hallo. Experts, geeks, MVP’s,J I hope you people can help. We currently have a very big problem. Suddenly we cannot backup and restore any windows 7 pc. Our image is deployed with software central. It’s both x86 and x64 image. Our server that deployed the image is a Microsoft server 2012 . So our system partition is 350 mb and c drive the remaining space. There are non-backup programs that can restore it. We have used: Symantec v.11 /v. 13 Snapshot. Acronis. Hdclone We have tried all sorts of setting in bios and so on. The funny thing is that a windows xp is no problem. Even if we install a windows 7 by hand from a DVD. No problem. Our other department have build there image a bit different. There is no system partition. It’s all on the c drive. That is also working fine to restore. We even tried to build the BCD from scratch. With no luck. We have sent one of our pc’s to snapshot in Germany they also could not restore it. Our hardware is HP elitedesk from 8100 to the newest 800 g1 its business pc. So they have all got a tpm chip installed. So guys what could we have missed. What could possibly be the problem???Solved3.1KViews2likes16CommentsSSR 2013 R2 Desktop Recover Anyware Question
At one time I had a Symantec info link to detailed instructions as to how to use RA to recover to another computer. Could someone point me to that please. The computer I will be recovering from is an OEM version of 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. MB is getting dicey and I want to migrate (RA) to a completely new machine. I was wondering if I'll be able to do a phone activation of this OEM Windows after the recovery. I know OEM versions are only for the hardware they were distributed on, but I wonder if MS makes an exception in the case of a system failure. Obviously, if I can't get it activated, I can't do an RA and I'll have to build the new machine back from scratch. hi there, in summary, my only question is this: does "symantec system recovery 2013 r2" support the recovery to different hardware for windows 2003 r2 machines? please read the details to understand why i'm asking. thank you! i'm completely new to "system recovery 2013 r2", and i'm attempting to evaluate its use in restoring windows servers to different hardware. my first test case is using windows 2003 r2. i spoke yesterday with a sales engineer, and he said i would need to install the server version of sr 2013 r2 on the source machine, and then create the sr boot disk. i went to install sr, and got the following warning: "This system does not meet the requirements to install the Symantec System Recovery Disk creation utility. The recovery disk creation utility feature is supported on Windows 2008 (and later) and Windows 7 (and later). Note: Symantec does not ship the recovery disk with System Recorery 2013 R2 and hence includes a utility in the installer to create a recovery environment." the sales documentation and the compatibilty list on the symantec website specifically lists windows 2003 r2 as supported, and the engineer i spoke with yesterday also said that it would work. so i went to look for the downloadable .iso instead, but i found a tech article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH225888) that specifically states that downloadable iso's are no longer provided. any guidance would be appreciated. --aaron1KViews1like3CommentsRestore Failed (Looping restart)

I have been going crazy on this one. I am doing a Restore anywhere from a Dell Raid Server over to a Desktop. When it restores and starts to ask for driver I keep getting asked for the Western Digial Disk driver. There are no drivers. I have even changed thr PC and added a Sata Controller and I am still getting the same thing. I have tried deleting all the drivers, running Windows Serup and still the same thing. Has anyone else seen this error and if so what is the work around??? Thank you.630Views0likes5CommentsSSR 2013 BSOD When using restore anywhere on HP 8470p
I'm trying to use the restore anywhere function in SSR 2013 to recover my hard drive from an HP 8000 desktop to a HP 8470p laptop. The recovery seems to complete but when Windows boots up it crashes and loops with the following error code Stop: 0x000000BE (0x80504638,0x00504163,0xB9CEF400,0x0000000B) I can restore the image to an HP 6930p, 8440p, and 8460p with no problems at all! I have also tried all options in the restore anywhere feature. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.429Views0likes2CommentsWhat is the highest version of Backup Exec System Restore for SBS2003?
Hello all, I have an SBS2003 with BESR v8.5. I like the software, but MS is telling me the drivers included in v8.5 can cause system instability. We are considering an upgrade if available. Thanks, -JohnSolved702Views1like2CommentsSSR 2011 - Restoring Windows 7 Pro 64-bit BSOD
All, I have multiple clients running System Recovery 2010 on their servers to NAS. Backups complete without issue. We recently had to restore to similar hardware which was a breeze. I have downloaded System Recovery 2011 Trial to a Dell Latitude Z. Grabbed the hot image to USB and booted the new laptop, Dell XPS 14Z, with the SRD and attempted a Restore Anywhere job. I tried this multiple times, about 8 to be exact all with different configurations and options changed or chosen. My problem is, I cannot recommend these products anymore unless I am 100% sure that a server, let alone laptop, can be restored to dissimilar hardware. Please help and advise how I can get this functioning. I am including a screenshot of the Latitude Z's drives from Disk Management. Please guide me though this or I will be in the dog house for recommending SSR. Thank you, Vinny420Views1like1CommentSystem recovery, dissimilar hardware, 3 partitions on original hard drive
I am using a trial version of system recovery 2011. I have created a restore point of my original hard drive. The drive has 3 partitions 25 gb each. When I created the restore point it created 3 separate restores, 1 for each drive (C,D,E). I would like to run the restore on a new drive that is 80 GB, but when it asks for the restore point to use I can only select 1(C) not all 3 (C,D,E)and the resize option is grayed out so I can not shrink the drive. How can I get all 3 partitions back in the same size partitions?382Views2likes1CommentSSR 2011 - can not restore running system
We have a Hyper-V server HOSTA (Windows Server 2008 Std SP2 x64) with 2 guests SBSA (Windows SBS 2008 SP2 x64) and APPSA (Windows Server 2008 Std SP2 x64). Both SBSA and APPSA have Symantec System Recovery 2011 (Build 10.0.0.39952) installed, and backup to share on HOSTA and Offsite to a FTP location. The Offsite location has HOSTB (Windows Server 2008 R2 Std SP1 x64) with Symantec System Recovery 2011 (Build 10.0.0.39952) installed. When the Restoring SBSA or APPSA it fails every time in all ways we have tried: Convert sv2i to Hyper-V VHD fail: Converts ok, then on start of VM guest runs the mini setup, then updates, then randomly reboots. after that we receive the stop 7b error, But the data on the .vhd can be mounted and accessed. Create Hyper-V guest and use System Recovery Disk fails: Towards the end of the restore a "Recover My Computer Wizard" box pops up with the message: Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Can::ReadFileFrameReal: .\Can.cpp(826): Read Failure. Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. We have tried a One off recovery point on-site and taken it to the off-site location and receive the same issues. A convert to vhd of APPSA on APPSA: converts ok, moved to HOSTA. on boot of the restored guest APPSA we receive: Windows Boot Manager Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. choose your language settings, and then click “Next.” 3. click “Repair your computer.” If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. status: Oxc000000f Info: Windows failed to load because the NL5 data is missing, or corrupt.
