Hallo. Experts, geeks, MVP’s,J I hope you people can help. We currently have a very big problem. Suddenly we cannot backup and restore any windows 7 pc. Our image is deployed with software central. It’s both x86 and x64 image. Our server that deployed the image is a Microsoft server 2012 . So our system partition is 350 mb and c drive the remaining space. There are non-backup programs that can restore it. We have used: Symantec v.11 /v. 13 Snapshot. Acronis. Hdclone We have tried all sorts of setting in bios and so on. The funny thing is that a windows xp is no problem. Even if we install a windows 7 by hand from a DVD. No problem. Our other department have build there image a bit different. There is no system partition. It’s all on the c drive. That is also working fine to restore. We even tried to build the BCD from scratch. With no luck. We have sent one of our pc’s to snapshot in Germany they also could not restore it. Our hardware is HP elitedesk from 8100 to the newest 800 g1 its business pc. So they have all got a tpm chip installed. So guys what could we have missed. What could possibly be the problem???Solved3.1KViews2likes16CommentsNeed to restore backup from a tape on different master server

At one time I had a Symantec info link to detailed instructions as to how to use RA to recover to another computer. Could someone point me to that please. The computer I will be recovering from is an OEM version of 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. MB is getting dicey and I want to migrate (RA) to a completely new machine. I was wondering if I'll be able to do a phone activation of this OEM Windows after the recovery. I know OEM versions are only for the hardware they were distributed on, but I wonder if MS makes an exception in the case of a system failure. Obviously, if I can't get it activated, I can't do an RA and I'll have to build the new machine back from scratch. Hi everyone So I discovered a problem with our BackupExec12 setup, installed on Windows Server 2008 and has remote agent installed on all our other servers running 2008 and 2008 R2. Having needed to perform a file restore (first one since I started the job) i kept getting authentication errors, so I reset the backupexec user password in our domain controller and restarted the backupexec services which accepted it and came backup ok. The problem I'm getting is when I try a resource credential test/ or actually try running the restore I get the following errors: "The data was not able to be validated" any ideas?Solved528Views0likes3CommentsB2V Restore Issue

hi there, in summary, my only question is this: does "symantec system recovery 2013 r2" support the recovery to different hardware for windows 2003 r2 machines? please read the details to understand why i'm asking. thank you! i'm completely new to "system recovery 2013 r2", and i'm attempting to evaluate its use in restoring windows servers to different hardware. my first test case is using windows 2003 r2. i spoke yesterday with a sales engineer, and he said i would need to install the server version of sr 2013 r2 on the source machine, and then create the sr boot disk. i went to install sr, and got the following warning: "This system does not meet the requirements to install the Symantec System Recovery Disk creation utility. The recovery disk creation utility feature is supported on Windows 2008 (and later) and Windows 7 (and later). Note: Symantec does not ship the recovery disk with System Recorery 2013 R2 and hence includes a utility in the installer to create a recovery environment." the sales documentation and the compatibilty list on the symantec website specifically lists windows 2003 r2 as supported, and the engineer i spoke with yesterday also said that it would work. so i went to look for the downloadable .iso instead, but i found a tech article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH225888) that specifically states that downloadable iso's are no longer provided. any guidance would be appreciated. --aaron1KViews1like3CommentsRestore Failed (Looping restart)
