Maintainence of Item Status after Restore
We recently restored a couple of user's vault (all vault items) items directly to their EX2016 mailbox using EV12. This was done as the user's mailbox is being moved to Exchange Online in O365. Some users reported the following: The Unread count of messages in their Outlook clients increased dramatically They started to get reminders for old calendar items like meetings/appointments etc. Does the restore have no mechanism to track this or manipulate this? For example, if the user has a EV shortcut in their mailbox that is read, when they restore this mail, is it still read or does it come in as unread? Same for calendar items. Appreciate any feedback!779Views0likes1CommentRestore all items
We are moving to Exchange online in a few months. We currently archive from Exch2016 without shortcuts, on EV 12.5.1. The plan was to disable the users for archiving, and export a users archive back to their orginal mailbox, then migrate to the cloud. Any concerns with that approach? A user had a question, if they move items from their mailbox in to Virtual Vault, would it restore the item back to the original folder? I assume if it's named the same, say Inbox to Inbox then it would work, but if they moved from Inbox to Inbox\reports it would create the folder structure Inbox\reports if it didn't already exist? Hi, I need to migrate a Enterprise Vault 11 server running on a Windows 2008 R2 server to a Windows 2012 R2 server. Actually we are doing only Exchnage Journal Archiving. What is the best procedure to afford this ??? Actually we don't have Symantec Backup solutions, but i suppose that it could be done with different backup solutions. Have a very strange problem regarding EV v11.0.0.1470. My task is to restore all archived EV data to a new share.I amrunning the following FSAUtility commands: FSAUTILITY -t -s "\\oldserver\share" -d "\\newserver\share" -l 0 FSAUtility runs and restores the majority of files I would expect to see, but for example if one folder has 10 placeholder files in the \\oldserver\share location (that you can double click and restore successfully), after running the fsautility to the \\newserver\share,EV has only restored 1 of the 10 archived files!? If I open EVvia web browser and browse down through the archive I can only see the 1 file from this location that fsautility has restored, hence only 1 file has restored. BUT like i mentioned above if i double click one of the 9 files in the oldserver share, the files restore with no error! Im unable to restore all placeholders to the oldserver\share due to space, hence restoring EVERYTHING to a newshare. Im very confused and need to be sure I have restored 100% of all archived files before removing the old share location. Can anyone offer someadvice? Hi All, We have recently split up an EV environment for a customer into 2 mailbox archiving and 2 journal archiving servers. There are 2 active Exchange Servers and each mailbox archiving server is responsible for one Exchange Server. Our issue is, when the archiving tasks are all on EV server 1, everything works perfectly. When we move the migration task for Exchange 2 to EV server 2, everything works except the restore function on these mailboxes (all mailboxes on Exchangeserver 1, processed by EV server 1 work fine). There is little given from any logs. In the IIS log we get 503 errors when users attempt to restore and 10/03/2015 10:52:09.212[10616][H]: HTTP request error: 366 (503) 10/03/2015 10:52:09.213[10616][M]: HTTP request error. Enterprise Vault is currently unavailable. Try again later. 503 from the client trace. It may be also worth noting that all IIS action is happening on EV Server 1 even though the users are being processed by EV Server 2. Any ideas on where I can go from here? We are looking to decommision EV. I have restored an archive back to a mailbox. This completed successfully. The emails did not go back into the correct folder structure though. A new folder was created with a blank name, and all subfolders were created in there: Is this normal behavior?1.5KViews0likes6CommentsEdit archived items in Outlook - Possible bug?
I may have found a possible bug in the Enterprise Vault Outlook add-in. When I open a shortcut and it displays the original Item. I click on "Action" and "Edit Messsage" - Add some lines to the email, click on save and try to close the email I get a popup with the following information: This item is archived and cannot be edited. To save your changesyou must make a copy of the item. Click 'Yes' if you with to save a copy in the inbox folder, or click 'No' to select a different folder. (same happens when I do not save the edit message and instead try to close it) When clicking 'Yes' - It saves the edited email in this folder - Thats correct When clicking 'No' - A new popup appears where I have to select a folder - When I decide not to store the edited email and click 'cancel' it stores the edited item in the folder where I opened the shortcut - Thats incorrect and should not be the case. Verified this with Outlook 2007 and Outlook Add-In 11.0.1 CHF4 as well as with Outlook 2013. Attached two screenshots of the popus I get. Can someone else verfiy this? Didn't find any other information. Is this a known problem or may it be a problem with Outlook? MarcSolved1.7KViews0likes6Comments
