Vm backup to disque extremly slow
Hi all, i have a physical netbackup 10.3 server with Win2016 running "fine" with vm backup to Lto8 tapes and disk. I bought a new server to upgrade in win2022 and i installed on it a fresh version in 10.5. i created a disk in storage unit. added my vcenter in credential and created a policy to test a vm backup. in attachement the backup log. after 01:42:59 of time elapsed the backup is at 39 KB/sec and has backuped 200000 kb of data. the same Vm backuped by the older Master is at 20867 KB/Sec in an 00:03:25 time. i tested with other vm and it's the same. Other problem : when i go in the gui in Policies or Catalog, (not after instal but after policy creation) i got the message "Could not get Class_att_defs information: Intermittent connectivity lost with the server ....." (in attachement) What could i check/modify to make this fresh master running fine please ?103Views0likes6CommentsBest Practice for DFSR Backup of large data
Hi All, I'm trying to backup DFSR enabled folder whose size is around 1.2TB. WithShadow Copy Component the backup is taking almost around 20 hours to complete. Once I stop the replication service and takes a full backup, it takes 12 hours to complete. My acceptable backup windows is 14 hours and hence with SCC backup I'm not able to complete the backup on time. Also, does the SCC backup always behaves as a FULL backup? My incremental backup always backs up complete data and due to this I can't use this option for my incrementals also as it's exceeding the window. I would like to know any best practice available for DFSR backup with SCC. (Don't prefer to stop the dfsr service) Would accelerator do any good for this situation? My Environment: NetBackup Appliance 5230 acts as both Master & Media Server Appliance Version -2.6.1.2 Master Server Netbackup Version - 7.6.1.2 Client Server - Windows 2012, NBU Version - 7.6.0.1Solved5KViews0likes6CommentsExchange 2013 GRT backups - how can I speed up the backup?
Hello, we have two mailboxes servers hosted on vmware and 30 databases configured in a DAG between the two servers. currently I have a policy set for a 15 hour window for a full GRT backup during the night (between 17-8), and 7 jobs limit per policy. lately the backup fail to complete in the time frame we have. and this is after we lengthenedit already. other than increasing the job limit, how can I speed the backups? the servers seem to struggle as it is (I think the backups are causing them to lose connection with the witness server- I never had the time to look into it) I consideredticking the 'disable client side deduplication' on the policy, since we are using a netbackup appliance with deduplication enabled. but I was unsure of where it moves the workload.. thanks in advance for the help1.3KViews0likes5Comments
