Sharepoint backup/Restore failure Cannot open database "Bdc_Service_DB_"
Friends, NBU 7.5.0.6 Master Windows 2008 R2 64Bit NBU 7.5.0.6 Media Linux Suse 10 SP 2 Sharepoint 2010 W2K8 FEWS+Index Server SQL Server 2008 on W2K8 Backend Server Sharepoint DB Backups running successfully on production setup both full and GRT. Problem: trying to restore the live backups to DR site. DR sharepoint server is all in one running both FEWS and BE SQL Server. followed this technote but no joy 1: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH163248 2: can't see the microsoft shrepoint resources in the BAR gui. getting the following error in the SPSWrapper00 logs 0f38] 07/25/14 15:21:01 Total infowrapper counts 1 [0f38] 07/25/14 15:21:01 Application name is Business Data Connectivity Service [0f38] 07/25/14 15:21:01 Application services db name is Bdc_Service_DB_ae4bc5abe4764226abfcbb42ea866079 [0f38] 07/25/14 15:21:01 Exception is Cannot open database "Bdc_Service_DB_ae4bc5abe4764226abfcbb42ea866079" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'IX\netbackup'. I have stopped the business data continuity service and application service but no joy. Questions: 1: how can i get rid of this error so that sharepoint resources become visible in the BAR gui? i can tell you for sure there are no permission issues on the account as the same account is being used on the production. 2: does the sharepoint resoources have to be visible for the restore? i would of thought yes because if they are not visible backup wont work so same goes for restore? any suggestion would highly be appreicated.1.2KViews1like4CommentsNetbackup Imports running longer when using AIR/Data Domain

Hi, We have the following servers and application:- 1. PostFix Mail on RHEL 5 2. Web server on RHEL (apache). 3. MY SQL on RHEL 5 4. SQUED Proxy on RHEL. We are planning to install NETBACKUP 7.5 to take backup. Postfix and other server will be taken as "Standered" backup. Is there any solution for MY SQL database. I got some link that MY SQL can be backed up using "ZAMANDA" agent. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/do-we-have-mysql-agent-under-netbackup-enterprise Any ideas ............Solved1.7KViews0likes7CommentsNetbackup 7.5 for VMware and DB2 backup.
Hi Guys.... After long time I am creating this thread in NBU forum........... We have the following:- 1. IBM Lotus 8.5 on RHEL 5 (64bit). 2. IBM Content Manager using DB2 9.7 on RHEL 5 (64 bit) used for Lotus Mail Archive. Websphare is used in this software bundle. 3. Two IBM TSM server(In VM ) were used to take Lotus mail backup and DB2 backup respectively. 4. VMware server. 5. A DELL storage server is used for all the VM (VMware datastore) and its in HA mode. Current situation:- 1. There is a IBM TSM (In a VM) taking backup of Lotus mail on to disk. (Disk Based backup). 2. Another IBM TSM (In VM) taking the DB2 backup (Lotus Archive Mail). Now, we were planning to take DB2, Lotus Mail and VMs backup using NBU 7.5. My query:- 1. Can we replace both IBM TSM backup server which was used for taking Lotus mail and DB2 backup. 2. I am not sure that the NBU 7.5 can be used to take DB2 backup and is this DB2 backup will have the entire archive mail. In other word does DB2 backup will backup the Archive mail done by "IBM Content Manager". 3. Is there any restoration issue of this DB2 (Archive mail) on to the IBM Content Manager. What are the pros and cons of replacement of IBM TSM, as this came bundled with IBM Content Manager. Any best practice for this.... Thanks.1.1KViews0likes6Comments
