What is in the BFK files
Hello everyone, We use backup Exec 2010 for backingup from 4 servers. Last night an differential job, using modified time ran. When I checked the status of the backup this morning, I came to the conclusion that the size of the created bkf file whas 5GB. This should be a lot more. Can someone explain how to check the data inside the BKF files? I'm really curious about the data that is backupped and what is not. Thanks in advance!

I have updated Backup Exec 2012. I have several backup jobs, both SQL (Server and Express) as files. A job in question, if SQL Express 2008, generates fault. The configuration is equal to the other SQL jobs. After upgrading to BE 2012 Sharepoint jobs fails, Access Denied.
Hi After upgrading and thenreinstalling BE 2012 my Sharepoint 2007SP3jobs failes. Much like the old http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH163882, fixed in 2010R3 SP2. Completion status: Failed Final error: 0xe0001602 - Access is denied (Share point backup). Final error category: Security Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-5634 This Exception may also show up: Backup- Sharepoint - 80\Content-DB1 (SERVERNAME\SHAREPOINT\WSS_Content) When I create the job the Test credentials check out OK, all passes. But the the job runs and it failes, when I the go in and check the credentials again they failed. Any one else with this problem? Solution? regards Robert

Backup Exec 2010 R2 crash ?

Cannot select Blackberry Enterprise Server Express SQL instance in a selection list
I have installed BES Express and I am trying to backup the configuration database. I can see the database instance in the selection list but when I try to select it i get the following error: "An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of SERVER\BLACKBERRY. A network connection to the server could not be established." I am using Backup Exec 10D and BES Express is installed on the same server. I have installed BES Express for other clients with similar setups and I have had no problems with backups. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, On the server application log, i encountered such an event which i couldn't find much info as to why and how to resolve this. Adamm Database Event: Database Connection Lost! Error = E_PVL_DB_LOST_CONNECTION Server = “computername” Active Node = “” Instance = “BkupExec” Database = “BEDB” Connection String = “DRIVER=SQL Server;SERVER=computername\BkupExec;DATABASE=DEDB; App=DEWS PVL" The database is installed on the same machine so i suppose it couldn't be a network failure which causes this as shown from the article below. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH87166 Can anyone help me? Duplication to Tape
Good morning, I have configured a backup job to perform a backup of our SQL server, C: D: E: F: All SQLDatabases and the system state. It goes to DeDuplication Disk Storage then to tape once complete. When this runs the duplication to tapepart of the job it only copies the System state then ends the jobs. (16GB out of 550GB) Any clues? Lee

Using SQL 2012 for Backup Exec 2012 database?
Hi, the SCL for Backup Exec 2012 contain on site 20 SQL Server 2012 for using for theBEDB. But when I install BE2012 it says this: The instance is default instance on the same server using SQL 2012 Enterprise Edition. The service account have full sysadmin-sql and domain-admin rights. Anyone tried this before? What I have to do? Thanks!
