SSR 2013 - ReFS support, when?
When is SSR 2013 Server Edition going to support volumes formatted as ReFS for full/incremental recovery points? BTW the discussion creation form doesn't include "Windows Server 2012" in the dropdown list of Operating systems, only Server 2003 and 2008 is there.478Views0likes4CommentsSSR2013 - ERROR: Installation failed with error -532462766.
Hey everybody, For some reason the Symantec website does not let me create a new support case (times out), therefor I'm hoping this forum might be of any help. I'm trying to install SSR2013 R2 for one of my clients (W8.1 Pro 64bit). When I run browser.exe or the SSRx64 setup.exe the installation starts with the message 'Loading the install. Please wait... ‘. After a few seconds this message disappears and the setup ends without reporting a clear error. However I checked the SSRINST.html file within the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SYMANTEC SYSTEM RECOVERY\LOGS folder. It reports the following error: Symantec System Recovery (TM) 2013 R2 Installation Log 02-09-2015,09:39:31 : EnumProcesses Counts: 79 02-09-2015,09:39:31 : OS is Windows 8 or Windows 2012. 02-09-2015,09:39:31 : The OS product type is Workstation. 02-09-2015,09:39:33 : Executing managed _Setup: 02-09-2015,09:39:33 : C:\Users\Voip\Downloads\SSR\Sym_System_Recovery_2013R2_11.1.0.53728_Multilingual_Product\SSR\SSRx64\Install\_Setup.exe 02-09-2015,09:39:35 : ERROR: Installation failed with error -532462766. GetLastError = :0 As test, I also tried to install SSR2013 (so not the R2 version) but it reports a similar error: Symantec System Recovery (TM) 11.0 Installation Log 02-09-2015,11:27:17 : EnumProcesses Counts: 76 02-09-2015,11:27:17 : OS is Windows 8 or Windows 2012. 02-09-2015,11:27:17 : The OS product type is Workstation. 02-09-2015,11:27:19 : Executing managed _Setup: 02-09-2015,11:27:19 : C:\Users\Voip\Downloads\Sym_System_Recovery_2013_11.0.2.49853_Multilingual_Product\SSR\SSRx64\Install\_Setup.exe 02-09-2015,11:27:21 : ERROR: Installation failed with error -532462766. I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.34KViews12likes385CommentsSymantec System Recovery 2013 R2 is now available!

I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2 installed with SSR2013 and it was running fine. After upgrade to SSR2013 R2, the backup fails. I'm running SSR 2013 on a Dell 64 bit Precision T3600 independent workstation with a Xeon ES-1650.0 CPU, 16 GB of RAM and containing a PERC H310 Raid adapter that controlls two 1 TB HDs currently running as independant C: and D: drives (i.e., in non-RAID configuration). 2013 succdessfully backs up the C: (boot) drive to D: in weekly sets with offsite copy. However, attempting to restore C: from image using the 2013 SRD runs into an immediate probllem. When attempting to boot from the CD/DVD drive (preceded by the H310 boot from bios), even before the Windows logo appears, I get a blue screen stating: "Your PC needs to be repaired. There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device. Error Code 0xC00000017." Attempting to use Lights Out produces the same result.. I attempted to customize the SRD with the H310 driver (percsas2.sys), but the SRD Wizard would not accept the .sys file. So I have two questions: 1. Could the problem be caused by something other than the H310? 2. If the probllem is the H310 controller (none of my other systems without controllers have SRD recovery problems), is there a fix short of removing the H310? -- Jim3.4KViews0likes11CommentsSSR 2013 backup failing, need debug logging
Our backups will fail every month or so. The error message is below: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\), (C:\), d-drive(D:\), e-drive(E:\). Error E0BB00B5: Snapshot error Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'OS error 2147754760.'. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071) I have googled and searched the Symantec forums regarding these error messages and nothing works. Our VSS writers are all stable and in good condition, the shadow copies are only on C: and they have been creating fine (7 am and 12 pm every weekday, 50 GB of storage, oldest copy is successfully deleted). Windows Small Business Server 2011 (which is Windows Server 2008 R2). SSR 2013 Small Business Server Edition 11.0.2.49853 Our backups are on weekdays, start at 9 PM and finish around 6:50 AM. We are backing up to external USB drives, a different one for each weekday. Nothing seems to be causing these failures; it happens with different USB drives, and with no clearly connected entries in the Event Viewer that have happened each time. I can't tell at what point in the backup process the backup is failing, that is, what file the backup fails on. How do I turn on enhanced logging for SSR 2013 so I can see what files are successfully copied during the backup process and at what time?I have only so far found instructions for Backup Exec, not SSR 2013.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsSSR 2013 - support for Windows 8.1/2012 R2 available now!
Service Pack 2 for Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013 will be available soon and, amongst other things, will bring support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. I cannot provide an exact date for the release of SP2 at this stage but this thread will be updated with details (release notes etc) when SP2 is available. Please let me know if you have any questions.4KViews4likes61Comments
