Windows 10? New software update for Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition?
I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.

O meu cliente tem problema com o fechamento do ciclo do back up. Recentemente adquiriu um conjunto de licenças para garantir o backup dos seus dados cujo volume é de aproximadamente 10TB, considerando: 13667-M0246 - BACKUP EXEC CAPACITY ED WIN 1 FRONT END TB ONPROMISE STANDARD LICENSE+MAINTANCE BUNDLE QTY 2 TO 5 INITIAL 12MO CORPORATE. 3*12574-M0242 - BACKUP EXEC CAPACITY ED WIN 1 FRONT END TB ONPROMISE STANDARD LICENSE+MAINTANCE BUNDLE QTY 2 TO 5 INITIAL 12MO CORPORATE. 3*13667-M0242-20 - BACKUP EXEC CAPACITY ED WIN 1 FRONT END TB ONPROMISE STANDARD LICENSE+MAINTANCE BUNDLE QTY 2 TO 5 INITIAL 12MO CORPORATE. A minha dúvida, é se o cliente comprou licença errada, e é possivel a partir da licença atual, efetuar upgrade que possibilita atender o problema. Obrigado
Backing Up Backup Exec Itself
I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information while Googling in regards to backing up the BE server itself, so I wanted to get updated info for version 15. Is it the correct way to simply to use run a Backup Exec job and protect the following folders? CATALOGS C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Catalogs DATA, DATABASE, and JOB LOGS C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data LICENSES C:\ProgramData\Symantec Shared\Licenses Obviously this means BE services are running while it's backing up itself and should be done outside of the nightly database maintenance window. SSR 2013 R2 - Email report/result not in language
Hi i have an ssr install which for some reason has gone completely weird. When ssr finished i get it to email the result for monitoring purposes. Problem with installaton of SIM 7.6 on Server 2012
Hello, I have tried many ways to install SIM 7.6 on Windows Server 2012 but with absolutely no success. I want to manage our system, which has about 50 PC's backed up with SSR 2013, but I am not able to install Installation Manager first. I'm running SSR 2013 on a Dell 64 bit Precision T3600 independent workstation with a Xeon ES-1650.0 CPU, 16 GB of RAM and containing a PERC H310 Raid adapter that controlls two 1 TB HDs currently running as independant C: and D: drives (i.e., in non-RAID configuration). 2013 succdessfully backs up the C: (boot) drive to D: in weekly sets with offsite copy. However, attempting to restore C: from image using the 2013 SRD runs into an immediate probllem. When attempting to boot from the CD/DVD drive (preceded by the H310 boot from bios), even before the Windows logo appears, I get a blue screen stating: "Your PC needs to be repaired. There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device. Error Code 0xC00000017." Attempting to use Lights Out produces the same result.. I attempted to customize the SRD with the H310 driver (percsas2.sys), but the SRD Wizard would not accept the .sys file. So I have two questions: 1. Could the problem be caused by something other than the H310? 2. If the probllem is the H310 controller (none of my other systems without controllers have SRD recovery problems), is there a fix short of removing the H310? -- Jim
