BMR SRT creation failed with NBU 7.7.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2
I'm a using Netackup 7.7.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2. The BMR Boot Server has the same version and is registered to the master server. When I try to create a SRT the creation process showsme the following screen. ACL permissions status when restore on different OS
Hello Team, 1)) We have a win 2003 client backup on tape with NB version 6.5. We restore this data in same domain on same client. ACL permissions are restored without any issue. 2) We brought this tape to a new domain where nbu version is 7.6.0.4 and operating system is Win 2012. We import the tape and restored data: a) On UNC path of win 2012 server - ACL permissions were not restored b) On local drive of win 2012 server - ACL permissions were not restored. 3) In 7.6.0.4 netbackup, if I try to restore a data from same domain client, it restores the ACL permissions without any issue. My question is is this behavior so, because we have different operating systems? Has anyone encountered this issue...Or any expert comments. Thanks!

Restore SQL cluster Database
Hi All, I have a SQL database cluster Server ,local drive (C and D) and Present from storage LUN (J, K, and L). I already configure MS windows Backup policy with enable Bare Metal Restore (BMR) option and backup selection (ALL LOCAL DRIVE). Let say, the server crash or can't boot windows, how can i do a BMR restore?.How i manage the drive J, K and L?..Need or not to separate backup policy for J,K and L drive.? Environment= NetBackup 7.6.0.1, Win Server 2008/2012 Thanks

Catalog Recovery of Netbackup 7.6.0.2 if IP address of the Master Server is different ?
I want to know if Catalog Backup recovery is possible if master server IP address is different but same installation path, host name, NBU version is there ? Actually I am unable to find specific information on Netbackup Troubleshooting Guide and in any tech note ?

Major Data loss situations - OSX Mavericks + WD drive software + external Hard drives
Please be aware that there are serious data loss issues ongoing with Mac OSX Maverics and Western Digital drive sofware. Both the Apple support and WD forums have mutiple customer reports of total external drive data loss. The data loss is not limited to systems activly using the WD software and drives, other vendor external hard drives are being lost. Personally I just lost 1TB of Time machine backups on a Iomega external drive. I did have a WD myBook for a while about 2 years ago but was not aware the WD drive software was still active on this machine. Current advice from Western Digital is to uninstall the WD drive software before going to Mavericks. Uninstaller is here ..... http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=126&sid=214&lang=en This situation as already caused a lot of digital pain, loss of data and as a techincal person makes me sad in so many ways.
