SSR Backups constantly fail
I am running SSR2013 on a Windows2012R2 server trying to back up the two local drives to a NAS device with a shadow copy to a USB drive but it costantly fails with the following: --Unable to write to file. ---Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' ---Unable to set file size. ----Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' (UMI:V-281-2001-31) I have checked the following: There is enough hard drive space on the NAS All of the permissions are correct There are no obviously associated event log entries The job starts and creates three ".tmp" files for the bakup of C: and up to 4 ".tmp" file for X: and then it fails. There were about 21 ".tmp" files for the X: drive the one and only time it worked and the system is set to split the files at 9.4GB in size. The server is hosting two Hyper-V guests and the VHDX files are on the X: drive. The annoying thing is that the backup worked once last week (running a base backup) and then we had two differentials as well but this week absolutely nothing will work. I have set it up to create a new base backup each week with Diffs every other day (mon-fri) If anyone has any ideas please let me know.1.9KViews0likes5CommentsAjuda para restaurar backup sem ponto de recuperação

I have an older 2003 server that we are pushing to be upgraded but client has so far withheld doing so. Recently we changed their backup scheme when the old tape drive broke. Now it has 3 static USB drives. We installed SSR 2013. I setup 3 jobs. Monday Wednesday going to one drive. Tuesday Thursday going to another one and Friday to one of it's own. The drives never get unplugged. There is a separate monthly job that is run manually and kept in a vault offsite. Typically the backup (~250gb) was taking around 4.5 hours to complete and has been running great for 4-6 months now. However on January 14th, for no aparent reason the backup took 68 hours to complete and has been continuing to take this long to run. I am cancelling jobs constantly. It succeeds and runs normally maybe 1 day a week. The rest of the time I log in in the morning and see a blinking progress notification that says "66 hours remaining" after it has already been running for 12 hours. I have tried deleting and recreating the job, checking the event logs, checked the raid, tested the USB drives with Seatools. I am finding literally nothing wrong with anything. SSR is up to date and I am at my wits end. All the log files I can locate give me no information as to any errrors the backup is encountering. The progress log just shows Progress[10], 11, 12 so on with no errors that I saw. The other log just shows started backup jobs and cancelled jobs with a couple successfull that manage to run normally. The ones that do complete are not on any certain day either. This week Monday ran and finished, last week it was wednesday, the week before that Friday ran normally. Can anyone give me an idea of where to start shy of reinstalling the whole dang thing (which at this point probably would have been a lot faster if it works).Solved758Views0likes4CommentsFirst Backup image to external HDD getting Error ED800012 SSR 2013

Hi, I installed Symantec System Recovery backed up my system. It produced a file\folder package as seen in the attachment (capture001.png). I then restored my system to factory defaults This is esentially a complete re-install of windows from a recovery partition I then did the experimentation that I needed to do with "fresh" system I then re-installed Symantec System Recovery and was looking to restore back to the original backed up version, but am not sure how to do that. The obvious route of using "Recover my Computer" is intended for when the backups have been taken on the same system. In my case I've done the windows re-install in between so obviously in that table there's no backups listed. Then I thought there must be a way to import the backup I have stored (capture001.png) There's Recover my Computer\Tasks\Custom recovery option which brings up a wizard that requires to provide a single recovery point filename and expected filetype is V2I In my backu up folder I have 3 of those (I asume tehre were 3 partitions backed up in the process of doing full system backup) So which one should I pick? (Capture002.png) Should be the C Drive I suppose, but I'm not sure. I wonder if there's some magic way to restore all 3 of the files at the same time? Also if I'm restoring the C: should I be choosing all of these options (Capture003.png) ? How would this restore work if I'm restoring the system of which I'm currently running of? Does it reboot and then do some magic before windows has loaded? Surely windows c drive cannot be overwritten while OS is runing of off the same drive. Any advice would be helpful. When I create a backup job in SSR, I know there is a place to "Limit the number of recovery point sets saved for this backup". I understand when I backup to the destination on my Buffalo NAS, this pruning takes affect. My question is, what about the offsite copies? Does the pruning for the job also apply to the offsite USB drive the offsite images are being copied to?Solved587Views0likes2CommentsMr
Hi, Running Windows 8.1 sp2 x 64bit. Since updating to SP2 I find that each time I run a Windows Update I lose all the SSR2013 backups in the Status report and the tray icon has a red "x" in it. All the backups are present on the backup disk its just that the status report cannot see them. If I run the backup in SSR2013 again the latest backup shows up and all is well until I have to run a Windows update. Can anyone assist? Regards JJF1312507Views0likes3Comments
