I am running SSR2013 on a Windows2012R2 server trying to back up the two local drives to a NAS device with a shadow copy to a USB drive but it costantly fails with the following: --Unable to write to file. ---Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' ---Unable to set file size. ----Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' (UMI:V-281-2001-31) I have checked the following: There is enough hard drive space on the NAS All of the permissions are correct There are no obviously associated event log entries The job starts and creates three ".tmp" files for the bakup of C: and up to 4 ".tmp" file for X: and then it fails. There were about 21 ".tmp" files for the X: drive the one and only time it worked and the system is set to split the files at 9.4GB in size. The server is hosting two Hyper-V guests and the VHDX files are on the X: drive. The annoying thing is that the backup worked once last week (running a base backup) and then we had two differentials as well but this week absolutely nothing will work. I have set it up to create a new base backup each week with Diffs every other day (mon-fri) If anyone has any ideas please let me know.1.9KViews0likes5CommentsWindows 10? New software update for Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition?
I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.34KViews12likes385CommentsCannot delete Recovery Point Set
SSR 2013 When I try to delete a Recovery Point Set I get the message "Successfully deleted 0 policies." If I edit the policy then use the menu in the top-left corner to try and delete it I get the message "The item is being referenced by one of more other items. You must first delete these items...." It then provides a link to view the referenced item, which is apparently a filter. If I look at this filter, I can see it has no members and is not referenced by any other objects. If I try to delete this filter, it won't let me, with the same error message as above. Completely stuck now with no idea what to do!Solved1.4KViews0likes8CommentsFirst Backup image to external HDD getting Error ED800012 SSR 2013

My customer is using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery V8.0.4 and the Server which was being used as the Central Management node has died. They also do not have the origianl storage node the centrally managed backup jobs were using. They will upgrade soon and in the mean time I have createdlocal Backup Jobs on the nodes to keep them regularly backing up. I want todelete, or at least disable, allof the old backup jobs. When I try to do this the BESR tells me "The backups job is controlled by a central management system. Contact your system administrator." I found Arcticle TECH67818 at http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67818and I can find some of the files mention in Step 3 (.PQJ and sv2i) but not the RPAM Folder in Step 4 or the RPAMfile in Step 5. IsTECH67818 the best way to resolve the issue? I can provide Screenshots, etc if necessary. Regards Mike735Views0likes2CommentsSSR-MS 2011 to SSR-MS 2013 different Server O/S
Hello, We are currently running SSR-MS 2011 (Symantec Management Console Version 7.1.8400) on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit. The database isMicrosoft SQL Server 2008 (SP2) 10.0.4000.0 (X64) Express Edition, on box. We would like to: Have a clean install of SSR-MS 2013 on Windows Server 2012. Install database on standalone box, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Copy/Import/Keep (meaning not have to recreate) policies, jobs, etc. Is this possible in whole or in part? If so, is there documentation of some sort available? Thanks697Views0likes3CommentsSSR2013R2 manage backup destination does not remove entries from backup history.
Using System Recovery 2013. We backup to an external hard disk then create an offsite copy to a NAS device. Ideleted some backup sets through the'managebackup destinations' option to free up disk space. Now the backup history shows the backup sets on the external hard drive as missing and the offsite copies as unavailable. The external hard disk backups were removed using the 'manage backup destinations' option. I had to manually delete the backups from the offsite destination as therecovery points arenot even available through that windows as per the screenshot. What is going on here? Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?1KViews1like6Comments
