Using BackUp Exec 2012 to back up ReadyNAS NV+
I have a Symantec BackUp Exec system running on a server right next to my ReadyNAS NV+ server. I want to back up the ReadyNAS as I do regular backups of my other servers. But when i try and run a test, an error message occours and the test can not proceed. I'm an IT-Support student at KVH Industries Denmark undergoing my first lightweight-heavy backup.544Views0likes1CommentPublic Distribution List Recovery
A user accidently deleted a public distribution listfrom Outlook 2010. I was able to recover the deleted Distribution list but every time I go into the list and double click a user to view his information i get this error: "Could not find contact " User's E-Mail ". It may have been deleted or moved from its original location. Would you like to remove it from this list?" I have tried looking online for solutions and the only one i could find was to hit the "update now" button but this messes up the list. Anyone have any ideas? did i miss something from the restore or is this how backup exec works? Maybe there is an outlook step to reassociate the contacts in the distribution list... any help would be very appreciated. We will soon be reinstalling Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 software due to an OS upgrade to 64bit version. note that this upgrade will be on the exact same server. The server is already 64bit hardware with a 32bit OS. Upgrading OS to 64bit. Here is my primary need: Ineed to make sure where to locate the BackupExec Encryption Keys and how to back them up (Export/Import) or whatever it takes. I also need to know the location forANY configuration files perteninent to the coniguration of BackupExec so I can back them up to be restored on the new server. Is there a PDF document available - or if someone has a minute to provide the details - It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.1.6KViews1like2CommentsSymantec Backup Licensing guidance

Hello I´m using Backup Exec 12.5 with latest updatesan RDX backup disk. The server is an HP DL360 tower and the operating system is windows 2008 SBS. The Backup time of the D: partition with a capacity of 90 GB needs 2:45 horus. The check of the the same patition neets 4 hours. Are there some possibility´s to optimize the backup and check time? Because I start the backup at 22:00 and most time the whole backup (C: D: systemstate, information store) ends ab 08:00. Thanks422Views0likes1Comment
