Backup strategy best practice please.
Dear Experts, I am running new tape library for my company data backup I need advice for best performance backup for system states and backup of users data and servers db (sql,oracle) I found it some complex with BE for how I could do it in concepts like overwrite protection period and appended period. I was using stratigy of : for DB (sql + Oracle+exchage server DB ) and Users Files/folders 1) every day incremental backup data 2) every friday full backup data for system state: 1) full backup at the end of each month. these days I am working to configure the backup on Symantec BE2014 with tapes so,How Could I do ?what is the recommended OPP and AP for my stratigy? what is the steps for configuring the storage pools as I am doing this maually ( I dont activate barcode)? what is the partitions and how i could use it? I will be clear with you I am new with configuring Tape library so,please guide me for the main ways to make it working correctly. Thanks in advance.

Externe Datensicherung mit nur einem Bandlaufwerk
Hallo zusammen, ich habe die hardwaretechnische Konstellation, dass ein Kunde gern eine externe Datensicherung im Safe aufbewahren möchte. Vorhandene Hardware: 1x dedizierter Backupserver (BE 2012 SP2) 1x Tandberg Data T24 LTO 5 HH 1 Laufwerk und keinen Discbased Storage. Wie kann ich es nun bewerkstelligen eine externe Sicherung via Band zu realisieren? Duplizierung fällt ja aufgrund des nur einfach vorhandenen Laufwerks aus. Wie kann ich also eine zuverlässige Sicherung einmal die Woche initiieren? Vielen Dank für Eure Antworten. Beste Grüße Sebastian

restore from backup Exec after server crash
trying to restore from a backup of the server and the software doesn't recognize that anything is there. I'm sure there is a step I missed somewhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Wan throttling on BackupExec 2010R3
I have 3 Servers in NY and a BuffaloNAS in NJ there is a VPN with 2mb Upstream connecting the 2 locations together. Doing a full server backup takes almost 24 Hours. Is there a way to throttle the backup speed so that I can run this backup even during business hours?
