Maintain Transaction Logs.
Hello Gents/Ladies, I have been having issues with my backup job lately and it is with regards to SQL Server backups. I have been getting the follow error messages and I am unsure how to resolve this issue on both of our Full to Tape as well as Differential to Tape: V-79-40960-37914 - Database ProspectTracker is configured to maintain transaction logs. Transaction log backups are not being performed. This will result in the log growing to fill all available disk space. Regular log backups should be scheduled or the database should be changed to the simple recovery mode. V-79-40960-37914 - Database ReportServer is configured to maintain transaction logs. Hi, I discover one problem in BE12 (all SP):My BackupExec Serverwasunable to send email (Testor Notification). The BackupExec Server is based in Caracas, with the official time zone of Venezuela (GMT-4:30). In this case, youcanĀ“t send email (at least,BEis connecting itself to the SMTP server, but nothing issending). To make the email working, you have to put your server in a "normal" time zone (egBogota Time GMT-5:00 or Atlantic Time GMT-4:00) to make the BE server able to send email. First, the system of the client. We have several customers with the same problem, but different systems - this is just an example of one of our clients. -------------------------------------------------- Windows 2003 Server Std. SP2 Intel Xeon CPU 3.20GHz 2 GB RAM Enough free space on HDD Veritas Backup Exec 10.0.5520 The server is used as a Exchange, File- and AD Server. -------------------------------------------------- Now to my problems. 1. I know that store.exe takes a lot of memory, but is there any other way than edit the boot.ini to limit the use of memory for that process (that didn't work) - the problem is after a while we have to restart the service so the clients can continue their work and we got a lot of clients and can't spend our time by restarting their store.exe services. 2. The actual problem, as soon as I start a job in Veritas Backup Exec the service store.exe don't just uses a huge amount of memory (>1GB) , the service (store.exe) also uses about ~50% of the processor until the exchange service completely crashes.
