SreEula.exe - System Error when booting 2013 R2 SRD
Hi all. I have had a support ticket open on this now for almost two weeks, with no luck. I have 2 issues. Dell Poweredge T420. Intel Xeon E5-2450 2.1. 16GB RAM. Windows Server 2012 R2 Std. System Recover 2013 R2 w/ current MS ADK installed. All Windows updates installed, and Live update ran. 1. When trying to create a "Typical" SRD, I am only offered "German" as a language selection. 2. More imporant issue: I cannot boot the Advanced 64-bit SRD after seemingly successfully creating it in English. Booting starts out fine. Blue Windows logo...white spinning in process icon. I get the symantec boxes for loading drivers, checking system requirements, network confguration, but then I get an error box titled: "SreEula.exe - System Error" . The message is: "The program can't start because oledlg.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". I have tried repairing, uninstallling and re-installing the software multiple times, but always get the same error. I haven't gotten anywhere with tech support. Anyone with any ideas?? Thanks Mike5.9KViews6likes60CommentsProblem with discovery tool from ssr2011
Hi, I work for a relatively big company(1400 servers) and i'm involved in the upgrade project of our BESR 8.5 architecture (to SSR2011) I installed SSR on a 2008R2 server and tried to start with but I have some problems with discovering computers I want to manage. I need to import from from my AD 10 servers for testing and cannot handle with. Can someone tell me which options I have to select to import precisely those servers? I used the action "import Microsoft active directory " tool then the first option -> import computer resources from "my domain" starting from "_servers" and using default columns mappings(do not understand how this option works seen values I can check) import all computers (with ldap search filter fulfilled with cn=COMPUTERNAME,ou=_servers,ou=xxx etc dc=net and it did import all computers from the OU!!! What can I do???!!! can I delete the content of this discovery from my database (sql 2008)? or rollback to a previous snapshot?) Otherwise I have an other problem some computers have been added automatically. On some of them (6), half are correctly managed and backed up but on others(2008 SP2) I get error messages when I try to force SSR addin install (error code : ) unavailable on the console, need to go on the server directly...) when I try to install manually, destination folder is empty why not) and then I get "internal error 2869.errorDialog" Please help me, Cordially1.7KViews6likes12CommentsSystem Recovery Management Solution 2013
I was just on the MySupport portal to create a new case for SSR2011ms and I noticed System Recovery Management Solution 2013 As on option for product version Is there a new version out? I didn’t here anything about a new version or will it be out soon?603Views6likes3CommentsSSR 2011 offsite copy hangs at 2%, 5%
Hi there, We are currently running SSR 2011 doing backups on 11 HP Proliant ML 350, IBM eSeries, and Dell Poweredge servers to a local LaCie 10TB 5Big Network 2 NAS device with an offsite copy over a 10MB Metro-E fiber link to a duplicate NAS device at a remote branch. 6 of the 11 servers backup locally and offsite fine, the remaining five do not complete the offsite, but do complete the incremental recovery points successfully each day to the local NAS. The partitions vary from multiple logical drives using RAID 5 to a single mirrored partition on each server. It does not appear consistent on similar ML generations with similar partitions/RAID levels. There are multiple discussions that dance around this issue. Before we try moving the offsite array local and try to perform the backups during the day, removing the offsite device each night, we want to try one more thread and see if any progress has been made resolving this. Thanks!Solved1.8KViews5likes14CommentsSSR2011 recovery disk boot freeze
Dear all, we use SSD disk in order to recover production computers since one year with several type of DELL computers without trouble. Now we use Fujitsu computer, and with some of them (Esprimo E700 "D3061") the multilingual recovery disk "SSR1001_AllWin_Multilingual_SrdOnly.iso" do not boot correctly (it freeze at loading). The same conputer boot correctly with "SSR1001_AllWin_English_SrdOnly.iso" (but in this case we do not have french keyboard support, ... ). Is there a way to have a more verbose boot sequence or something to do to find what is the trouble? Thanks a lot for your help! I really like the BESR 2010 product...except for one thing. It seems I have to "babysit" more clients then I would like to. By this I mean, I log on almost daily to my Management Console to make sure everything is going ok. But everytime there is a handful of clients that for whatever reasons have skipped/missed backups for several days or are stuck doing a backup. Normally I have to reboot the PCs or clear out the *.PQJ and *.PQH files and start a new base recovery point. I've been all over these forums and on search engines looking for reasons why these things are happening and there's no real concrete answers. I manage 300 PCs and doing this extra work to maintain the backups is stretching my time really thin. Is there an update with fixes coming soon? These are my main issues: - skipped/missed backups, clients look fine (green check box in system tray icon). I can tell they missed because in the Manage Tasks, Computers view in the Console it shows last time run as several days ago - misreporting of the "Last Run" date when you open the client. The one on my PC says my last backup ran was 42 days ago, but in my backup history it shows backups successfully completed every day - backups hanging at 95% or even at other points. No future backups will run because they think it's stll not completed. Must reboot PCs and/or delete PQJ/PGH files Again this happens on a handful of PCs usually and they seem to randomly happen. Different PCs, different dates, etc. I've posted about some of these issues before and gotten nothing really except a link to this: " http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/352307.htm " That page might explain some of my issues, but there doesn't seem to be any progress on that. Anyone else experiencing any/all of these issues? I'm using version 9.0.1.365272.2KViews4likes58CommentsUninstall SSR2013 without reboot
Can anyone tell me the command line to uninstall SSR2013 and not have the client reboot? I tried adding "REBOOT=ReallySuppress" to the end of the command line, but it made no difference. A few days ago I had an issue with doing a system restore using Ghost 15. I went to that forum for help and learned that Symantec was going to discontinue Ghost and recommended users "check out" SSR 2013 with its free trial. I downloaded the free trial and eventually learned it would not install unless I first remove Ghost. That wasn't from anything that I saw when the SSR installation failed; that happened without any additional information. However, I did eventually find my way to this forum and a helpful Guru pointed out the issue and also that I could always re-install Ghost if I wasn't happy with SSR. I uninstalled Ghost, installed SSR, and started backing stuff up. Now, if one of the things you want to do is a full system restore (my primary interest) then you need a recovery disk. SSR will make a recovery disk for you and all you need to do is provide an activation key which you don't get with the trial version. No problem, as all I need to do is install Ghost. But I can't install Ghost until I uninstall SSR. And SSR WILL NOT UNINSTALL. Whenever I try to uninstall it there's an Error 2738 and something about a VBasic error. So now I have a trial verision of a program that I can't use and a paid for program I can no longer load. I guess it can all be fixed if I pay Symantec for an activation key for a program that I'm not sure I want in the hopes it will maybe allow me to upgrade to a latter version that can uninstall so I can install the program I uninstalled so I could evaluate the Free Trial. To put it another way, I may have to pay Symantec to I can remove their free software and load back the software I paid them for as well. And, even it it turns out there's a simple, and hopefully less expensive, way out of this I've still wasted a lot of time on what should be a free trial of a comercial product which appears to be more of an alpha test. I am running BESR 2010 with around 200 clients. Yesterday when viewing them in the BESRM, about 120 of them went from the staus of installed with a working backup policy assigned to clients showing up as not installed and no policies or the clients just don't show up at all in the computer list. I check physically on the machines and the BESR 2010 software is still installed, but will say in trial mode (since license policy isn't being applied) with no backup jobs. The only thing I did yesterday was delete some old backup destinations. I followed the instructions in this knowledge base article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH153587&key=53845&actp=LIST Unfortunately it looks like this procedure suggested by Symantec deletes clients or the relationship between them and the BESRM. Now I have a bunch of PCs that aren't reporting it or think they are not installed and are not running their backups. Outside of restoring back to the previous day's image for the BESR server, how do I fix this? So far I've been able to get some PCs back by restarting the Altiris Agent and BESR services and reseting the agent via the Altiris Agent Task Status tab. I've then had to go back into the policies I've created and re-add the clients to the right ones. This is a lot of work to re-do 100+ clients this way. Ultimately I have a feeling that I will have to do this for each client and that the removal of the backup destination associations procedure I did was the cause. If so, then what is a safer way of removing backup destinations?458Views3likes5Comments
