How to scratch/clean an appliance...
I have a v2.5.2 N5220 appliance which I need to decommission, and later re-deploy. It is/was the 4TB model with no disk shelves. It was previously configured as a master/media with an MSDP pool (noadvanced disk). I need to ensure, and be absolutely sure, that any old backup data cannot be scavenged. I'm confortable with re-imageing via IPMI. So, I'm looking for guidance on how to be sure that no old backup data can be scavenged. 1) Does anyone have any tips/notes/pointers/advice? 2) Do I need to somehow reformat the storage? 3) Or does re-imaging to factory statesomehow permanently render all old MSDP data storage disk blocks useless? 4) Is there a documented process? HOW TO: Decommission a Netbackup 5220 Appliance in Media Server config
Hello Folks, I am looking for a documented process on how to decomission a Netbackup 5220 Appliance which is configured as a Media Server to a clustered Master Server. 5220: v2.5.1 Master Server: NBU 7.5.0.4 The 5220 has advanced disk pool and MSDP setup on the appliance and also has tape out. We will likely be decomissioning it and then do a factory reset and set it up as a new Master Server......BUT looking for steps to decommision it properly from the Master Server first. I have looked at the Appliance Admin Guide and there is a procedure there to decomission an Appliance Media Server from another Appliance Master Server, which is not appliable in my case. Reset Storage Pool N5000
Hi, i've had to delete my storage server + disk pool from my Netbackup Master Server (7.1.0.3) because the disk media ID of N5000 (firmware 1.4.1) has been changed and wasn't available anymore. now, i've managed to forcely delete storage server + disk pool, and add the same storage server again. but when i try to add a disk pool, i see no volume available, so i thought i needed to reset the Storage Pool from the browser consolle of N5000. i've tried the "normal" and the "full" way, but no success. these are the errors i receive: shared.webserviceclient.2128 severity: 6 server: 1554000000 source: PDDODataRemoval_Component description: Webservice could not be queried.
