Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO)
Currently our DLO console is in the operating system version 7.O in windows server 2008 R2, to renew the annual license DLO, we reached the respective key for version 7.5. Therefore, we must do our migration console version 7.0 to 7.5 and the distribution of agents to the mobile stations (notebooks).294Views2likes1CommentDLO Upgrade 7.0 to 7.6
We are planning an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.6 very soon. Once the server has been upgraded, are the 7.0 desktop agents still able to perform backups before they receive the updated 7.6 Agent, or are they essentially disabled until then? Also, am I correctly interpreting the 7.6 Admin Guide to say that publishing the update via DLOcommandu.exe will not work for Windows 7 x64 systems? Further, if we were migrating the DLO SQL database from one MS SQL database server to another, would we be able to just update the setup.iniin the Agent install folder, and simultaneously update both the desktop agent and its pointer to the correct SQL database? Hi, Target server: Windows 2008 R2 standard 64 bit + BE2010 R3 vers.13.0 rev. 5204 64bit SP2 with lates batches, had DLO option of BE2010 installed (but never used). After installing DLO 7.5 on same server, database maintenance of BE2010 stopped working with error "Maintenance has failed: 10, Dump database failed. I first tried to change "Log On As" account to system account with SQL services of datase, this did not help. Then I tried to regrant permissions for local and domain admins in sql database of BE2010. These did not solve the case. I was able to fix this by uninstalling DLO option from BE2010 (which will require access to installation media) using "Tools=>Install options and license keys...". I had installed DLO 7.5using own separate sql instance (not the one used by BE). Installation somehow disabled DLO of BE2010 but left its database defined in sqlinstance of BE2010. Removing the option removed the unused database too. I hope this will help anybody who is struggling with same issue. Hi, Actually i have migrated the Symantec DLO 7.5 SP1 to a new server with different IP and Host Name, by restoring the DLO.mdf and DLO.ldf data files but after migration, the clients are not able to communicate with the new server. And after troubleshooting I found the DBServer name on clients in the registry was remain same(Old Server Host Name). If we change the DBServer Name then the Backup runs on Windows XP, but On Windows 7 machine its not working thereafter client get disabled after changing the DBServer Name in registry. So Please help me to get out of it. Is there any other way to migrate the SDLO 7.5 SP1. Thanks, Ashish Agrawal ACPL Systems Pvt. Ltd.1.5KViews2likes7CommentsExecuting Remote Installation. Please wait... hung
Hi I have an issue where I'm trying to deploy the latest version of DLO to 2 computers from the DLO console. It deployed ok to the first computer but it's doing nothing on the 2nd computer and has been hung for the past 3 hours. Please see attached screenshots. Is it ok to end this in Task Manager or will this cause problems for the client or console? Also, if I try to close this window, I get the message in Closing window.jpg. Clicking Ok just brings you back to the Executing Remote Installation window Thanks Jimmy1.4KViews1like2Commentsdlo upgrade 7.5.1 to 7.6 - missing registry entry

We are just starting to roll out DLO. I am running Symantec DL0 7.5 SP1 on Server 2008 R2. Running all the latest Windows and Symantec updates. We have had no issues with Windows 7, but Windows 8.1 seems to be problematic. We have one user on Windows 8.1 with Outlook 2013, they have 1 PST file 30Gb in size, and DLO is successful. We have another user with Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 and keep on receiving the following error "PST is in use by another application. It will retired" This user has 50 PST files in one location that are 25GB in total size. DLO is failing to make the local and network backup of these PST files. I have contacted Symantec support and got told Windows 8.1 is not supported by DLO 7.5 sp1. When I asked why does one client work the response I got was "Its Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I got told Windows 8.1 would be supported by an update but they are unable to say when its due. The support experince was very poor and on a number of oocassion Symantec didn't call at the time requested. Is this a common problem with Windows 8.1? Does anyone know when the update is due? Does anyone know a resolution to this as downgrading the OS is not an option.603Views1like3CommentsDLO updates or upgrades : news and download page

Hello, I have two questions concerning DLO 7.5 Will existing clients with the 7.0 Agent be able to continue backing up without the update? I understand that Office 2013 is not currently supported by 7.5. Are there any plans for an update to support 2013 in the future? I apologize if these were in the Admin guide and I missed them.542Views1like1Comment
