Opcenter Atutil
Hi, I am planing to upgrade Netbackup Ops center from 7.6.0.2 to 7.6.1.2. I have a doubt with AT. I don't have LDAP or AD authentication is my environment, Do I still need to export the authentication settings using atutil before the upgrade and import back after the upgrade?Solved2.1KViews0likes3CommentsUpgrading OpsCenter Analytics and NetBackup 7.7
Hi, I was going to upgrade NetBackup 7.6.0.x to 7.7. I downloaded all the install packages. Sort tells me to start with upgrading OpsCenter. My current OpsCenter is installed on Solaris 10, which doesn't look like it's supported - Not listed in the Software Compatibilty list. Doany of you know if OpsCenter Analytics 7.7.x ~will~ be supported on Solaris? Or, should I start planning on migrating it to RHEL/OEUL? If I migrate to RHEL will I be able to export my history from my old installation and import it into the new one? Thanks in advance. Hi guys. I am currently running Opscenter 7.5.0.6 under windows 2003 sp2 standard edition, wich if course it´s 32 bits, and now facing the migration to 7.6, I am rebuilding some servers, and this one is among them. As far as I understand, the correct migration sequence would be to upgrade first opscenter, them master, and then media. I am building a 2012 windows server, but would like to keep all the data and queries I have in my old server. Do I need to do a backup and then restore some folders, just copy paste, or am I doomed and have to recreate averything manually? Thanks in advance.Solved1.1KViews1like4CommentsUpgrade Opscenter from 7.6.0.3 to 7.6.1
Hi Current environment: Master server running on Redhat Linux 6 with NBU version 7.6.0.3 Opscenter running on Windows 2008 server with opscenter version 7.6.0.3 We have totally over 7 Master server in our environment with either 7.6.0.1 or 7.6.0.3 version on the NBU side. We are going to upgrade the Master server to 7.6.1, and in order to do so, we have to upgrade the Opscenter first. I have read the opscenter admin guide and the upgrade section and I have some questions regarding the Opscenter upgrade: I read somewhere in the opscenter admin guide that data collection on the opscenter needs to be disabled prior to upgrade. However it does not mention that during the step by step procedure for upgrade in the admin guide. Am i suppose to disable the data collection for all the master servrers from the opscenter or not? It is mentioned about the AT and how that has changed in 7.6.1 version. Depending on the upgrade scenario, one might need to perform some steps prior to the upgrade. Wheter or not to perform these steps is based on wheter we have cluster\non cluster environment and wheter AT is share or remote. My question is how do i figure if my AT is shared or remote Any other suggestions are appreciated.ThanksSolved672Views0likes5CommentsOpsCenter upgrade 7.6.0.2 to 7.6.1.1 steps question
According to the SORT generic OpsCenter 7.6.0.2->7.6.1.1 checklist the general process is: Upgrade the agent Upgrade OpsCenter But...shouldn't OpsCenter be upgraded first and then the agent on the monitored NetBackup masters? Otherwise you have (for a short time) a higher level agent talking to a lower leven OpsCenter.Solved685Views0likes3CommentsOpsCenter migration from 2003 to 2012 server will not connect to masters
Hi all, We've had to do some migration on our OpsCenter server and move it from a windows 2003 to a windows 2012 R2 server. We went about it this way with help from Symantec support. Install OpsCenter 7.6.0.1 and Agent 7.6.0.1 on 2012 server. Upgrade Server and Agent to 7.6.0.4 Move 2012 database folderto a temp spot and make a new one. Backup 7.5.0.6 database on 2003 server to a known good location. Copy database files over to the 2012 server in the new location. Run the upgrade script from 7.5.0.6 up to 7.6.0.4. (competed successfully) Start up OpsCenter and Agent. None of the steps above created any errors and the db upgrade went fine. I logged into OC and noticed all the entries I expected to be there were there. Because the masters had not yet been harnessed by this box, all of them showed up disconnected. We then proceeded to change the bp.conf file to allow access to this box by the new OC. To summarize, the masters are all running NetBackup 7.5.0.6 and OC is at 7.6.0.4. The masters are all running RHEL 5.10 or higher along the 5.x family. To enable access by OC, we've changed entries in bp.conf add new OC box to SERVER = lines as well as theOPS_CENTER_SERVER_NAME. We've also tried long name and short name. We've also dumped the host case with bpclntcmd as well as removing the host_cache dir itself. Don't even get em started on how many times we've rebooted and restarted services. No matter what we do, we always get:"The specified NetBackup Master Server could not be found. Make sure...". I'm at a loss for what could be wrong. About the only breakthrough we've had (and by we I mean myself, Symantec support and backline) is that I was able to remove one of the smaller masters and add it back successfully. Once that happened, the server came to live in OC and It can be used now. Any thoughts on this?347Views0likes0CommentsOpsCenter upgrade issues.
We recently upgraded our Opscenter server running windows 2008 server to version 7.6.0.3. After the upgrade it connected to all the master servers in our environment properly and was showing all the expected data. The next day it lost connectivity to several master servers 2 of which are 5230 appliances and others that are also running windows server 2008. I restarted opscenter using opsadmin.bat stop/start and everything returned to normal. After about 24 hours connectivity was lost again, this time to different NBU's. I rebooted the Opscenter server and everything came back online for about 12 hours until we lost connection to several master servers again. I do not see any specific application errors in the windows logs. Has anyone else experienced similar issues after upgrading? Is there a specific location I can look at for logs pertaining to Opscenter?471Views1like2CommentsPlan of Upgrade OpsCenter from 7.5.0.4 to 7.6.0.1 - view builder
Hi, I am starting to plan for our NBU upgrade to 7.6 etc and I need to upgrade OpsCenter first. Our OpsCenter has viewbuilder installed but I dont think we are using it at present, The future maybe ! OpsCenter is currently living on a windows server 2008 x64 system and i have found SORT and the installation guides suggest that view builder is not supported on this platform. Can anyone shed any light on this matter.? Is there an alternative to this ? Or do I have to migrate onto a different platform before I can upgrade. ? Any advice welcomed. Currently we use OpsCenter 7.5 with NBU 7.5. OpsCenter runs on a W2K3 server and NBU on a W2K8 server. We want to replace the W2K3 server for a W2K8. I prepped a new VM with W2K8, but when installing OpsCenter 7.5 i got errors and it didn't install. Found out that this is due to the IE version and that the solution is to install OpsCenter 7.6. That installed OK, but now i cannot get the NBU server to connect with the OpsCenter server. I use the command vssat --setuptrust <host>:1556 --securitylevel high, but get an error that it cannot connect to the OpsCenter server. I can ping the OpsCenter server from the NBU server, DNS registration for both machines is ok. I'm doing something wrong but i cant figure out what.......Solved1KViews0likes3Comments
