System Recovery 16 to 18 upgrade procedures
I am currently running Veritas System Recovery 16 Desktop edition on Windows 10 and want to upgrade to the current version 18 (18.03.57044) version. I have downloaded the current version from my license login. Can I just install over my old version and it will maintain my settings and backup logs and jobs? I looked at the FAQ but I think it was talking about updating within each number series using liveupdate, etc. It did not seem to address my situation. Hi all, I upgraded two installations of SSR 2013 to SSR 2013 R2 recently (all hotfixes applied). The backups are running successful, but the e-mail notifications have become weird. I'm getting these: Description: Result (0x6c8f043d 39 VPRO_INFO_COUNT_EXCEEDED_BACKUP_DELETED Args [1] Arg (0xbab000d 46 E:\SystemRecovery\SRVSBS\SRVSBS_D_Drive227.v2i);)<9 1.0-*-*-* > Or Description: Result (0x6c8f1f7f 31 VPRO_INFO_SCHEDULED_BACKUP_FULL Args [1] Arg (0xbab000d 3 *:\);)<9 1.0-*-*-* > There seems to be a problem of some sort, but I can't make heads or tails of it. Has anyone ever seen this? Thanks in advance for your time. Bye, Tim705Views0likes2CommentsSystem Recovery 2013 11.0.1.47662 Recovery_Disk Dont Support USB 3.0

I had to replace the old server running SSR 2013 R2 management solution with a new one. Toghether with this, I also moved the SQL database from an old 2008R2 server to a new sql 2012 server. These servers when down, so I was restoring the database by extracting it from a BACKUP made with SSR2013. I didn't want to restore the full backups because I also wanted to migrate to windows 2012 r2 (from 2008r2) and to sql 2012. To do this I followed some discussions i found in this forum. 1)Installed SQL server 2012 on SQLNEW 2)restored the database from the backup into the DATA folder of mysql server on SQLNEW 3)imported the database in sql 2012 4)installed SIM on NOTIFICATIONSERVERNEW 5)started SSR 2013 install onNOTIFICATIONSERVERNEW, SIM added Symantec managements platform 7.5 SP1 automatically 6)In the install procedure I select the SQLNEW as new server, and i select to use existing database 7)I wait for the installation, the configuration takes a lot of time as expected 8)In Altiris management console on NOTIFICATIONSERVERNEW,I went to Manage->Filters->Computer Filters->All computers and removed the old dismissed servers, exceptNOTIFICATIONSERVEROLD that has no delete option then i navigate toManage->Filters->Notification Server Filters->Notification Server andManage->Filters->Notification Server Filters->Site Server. In the first, onlyNOTIFICATIONSERVEROLD is listed. QUESTION1) How can i addNOTIFICATIONSERVERNEW and removeNOTIFICATIONSERVEROLD from this list? In the second, both servers are listed QUESTION2)How can i removeNOTIFICATIONSERVEROLD from this list?828Views0likes4CommentsMigrate Backup Exec 8.5 To SSR 2013 R2 Management Solution
I'm after any advise or war stories concerning people's experiences with moving from Symantec Backup Exec 8.5 to System Recovery 2013 Management Solution. We currently have 800 or so desktop pc's that are currentlyserved by 2 Backup Exec 8.5 servers. The idea is to move these client pc's to our existing System Recovery Management Solution server. Any thoughts or Ideas on how best to achieve this will be greatly appreciated. One concern is that the single SSR Management Solution server would be insufficient to carry the load generated by 800 additional clients and I was wondering how I could distribute the workload across a secondary server.382Views1like1CommentSSR-MS 2011 to SSR-MS 2013 different Server O/S
Hello, We are currently running SSR-MS 2011 (Symantec Management Console Version 7.1.8400) on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit. The database isMicrosoft SQL Server 2008 (SP2) 10.0.4000.0 (X64) Express Edition, on box. We would like to: Have a clean install of SSR-MS 2013 on Windows Server 2012. Install database on standalone box, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Copy/Import/Keep (meaning not have to recreate) policies, jobs, etc. Is this possible in whole or in part? If so, is there documentation of some sort available? Thanks697Views0likes3Comments
