BackupExec asking for 2nd tape reporting 1st tape full when Job is only half of capacity of tapes
Any suggestions? I applied HotFix 336718 last week (on Backup Exec 12) that did not fix the problem. I upgraded to 12.5 (applied SP3) and the problem remains the same. Backup Job is set to overwrite, Job Defaults is set for NO overwrite protection under Media Management. I must be missing something very simple, I hope. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
Backup Exec 2012 health check guide
Hi, i'm a newbie to this backup exec 2012, and recently we have active contract on supporting this Backup Exec 2012. By supporting this, we need to perform health check or software preventive maintenance on the servers equipped with backup exec 2012 on quarterly basis. Just want to know that whether there are some guidelines or procedures/steps on what we need to include in the health check such as services, connections, patches? Please share with me if anyone know how to prepare a backup exec 2012 health check checklist in order to perform the preventive maintenance for the servers. Thanks
Windows 2008 R2 Restore fails
Hi, I'm having a great deal of trouble restoring windows 2008 R2 using Backup exec 12.5 service pack 3. This is a domain controller and I am restoring C drive and system state and service state as per my usual restore routines. The server starts to boot but then fails and just keeps restarting, trying to repair the installation fails. Appears to try and boot so doesn't look like a boot. device problem. I have restored many, many windows 2000 and 2003 boxes but the restore procedure does not appear to work for windows 2008 R2. I am not restoring the utility partition so that may be were I'm going wrong. Has anybody restored windows 2008 R2 and can give me some pointers. Thanks Mark

Hello, My company has recently purchased Backup Exec for Windows Servers. We are hoping to roll it out to begin backing up our critical systems next. We are currently prevented to roll it out because in our test lab each time we add a remote windows system we get the successful message the the 'Windows system was added successfully. However, the system doesn't appear. The message also says it may take some time for the the system to appear - we have been waiting two days!!! This is lab environment so there aren't any firewall or antivirus software installed to block port 10000 (or any port). The strange thing is, we successfully remotely pushed the agent onto the system. The publish option is enabled. We can ping/connect to the remote system. This is severely holding up production. We have a support license and we're told that this was a moderated forum and someone from the support team would get back to us shortly. Therefore, I sincerely hope to hear from someone soon. I hope my post will be clear enought so i can get help as soon as possible ;) if not, please let me know ( english isnt my natal born language ) Lets start with the problem .. Lately ( I couldnt tell when since i never did it my self .. ) I am totaly unable to run a Inventory on my LTO4 Tape, it always stay in "Queued" status, i tried the solution according to the following link. and some other post from your forum that says to put my drive in suspended mode, then re-enable it, but it still dont work.
