Hi. We have the same issue here with verion 8. Funny thing seems that we cant install manually on Dell laptops, like M388 and Latitude 7250 but works on Lenovo machines... Hello, Some of my users have their DLO clients disabled when they log in to a machine. The clients show the following error until the user opens the DLO Interface and clicks Refresh: "There is a problem with configuration on this computer. The Desktop Agent will remain disabled until the problem has been corrected by your administrator. Your administrator has been notified" I have checked KB: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH159010 which seems like it should fix the problem but it does not. All the users/machines that are having this issue were on a different DLO server but that server was retired and a new one created. A user that has never before logged into the client computer doesn't have this issue, their DLO client starts up just fine. My major concern is that someone is going to do a lot of work on a machine and not have any backups because their DLO client is disabled. Any ideas? Thanks EricSolved4KViews1like3Comments
DLO7 agent installation - push or local - errors and rollback
We just upgraded our DLO server to 7, and I am trying to upgrade our agents to the new version, as well. Upon either a push installation from the server, or a local installation on the client(s), we run into an error 1325 "Documents is not a valid short file path", and the installers rolls back all changes (including the version of the agent that was previously there). The clients are Win7 SP1 x64, the server is 2008R2. Is this a known issue with DLO 7? How can I get around this and restore our DLO backups? The event logs from a sample client are attached. Hi I am trying the dlo 7.5 SP1 with deduplication and I mounted a backup share resource and a dedupe share resource. We havethree maintenances server in differents locations. Some Windows 7 clients works fine, but I have at least three computers that I receive this error. DLO Client is Disabled Dedupe engine initialization failed. Please contact your system administrator. I spent time reading in the forum, I tryed checking the permissions,deleting the ".settings" folder, reinstalling the agent but nothing of this doesn't work for this computers. Other thing is, in computers that it works fine, users have to have at least copy operators permissions. If user doesn't have this permissions I receive the same error. If I uncheck the deduplication option, every computer works fine, but I want to have the deduplication option Can you help me? Thanks.Solved3.3KViews0likes10Comments
Shutdown PC and dloclientu.exe
Hello all, Many users when they try to shutdown their computers, at the end of day, they recieve a warning screen for waiting to close programs. One of this files is dloclientu.exe. Dedupe Engine Offline Error for Local Users
We have been experiencing a number of errors with DLO on the user side. The agent will not back up to the user’s DUDF (Desktop User Data File) because it cannot communicate with the server, As both a primary user and an administrator, I often check my settings and backup statistics. I happened to notice today that I, myself, received the Dedupe Engine Offline error when I tried to force a backup over VPN. So. My question is, does being connected via VPN somehow affect the backup? Is it possible that some of the ports used by DLO are blocked, or not open, in a VPN session?
